What’s the story?

Hollywood personality and longtime pro-wrestling fan Macaulay Culkin has taken to social media so as to taunt Rusev.

Apparently, Culkin alluded that he intends to face Rusev in a rather unique matchup, possibly at the WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble PPV.

In case you didn’t know…

Macaulay Culkin, best known for starring in the “Home Alone” movies, is a self-professed professional wrestling fan.

Culkin is no stranger to performing in the WWE either, considering that he had appeared on WWE television programming in a segment with Superstars such as Chavo Guerrero and Hornswoggle back in 2009.

The heart of the matter

It was before WrestleMania 34 that Rusev put forth the idea that he wishes to face a celebrity at ‘Mania in New Orleans—something Macaulay Culkin seemed interested in.

Nevertheless, the matchup never materialized, and Rusev was booked in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the United States title against Bobby Roode, Randy Orton and Jinder Mahal—with Rusev then coming up short in the match that took place at WrestleMania 34.

Furthermore, WWE recently announced that Chris Jericho will be replacing Rusev in order to face The Undertaker in a Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV event.

Apparently, Culkin got wind of the same, and has now challenged Rusev to a “Lawrence of Arabia Basket Match”. Here’s Culkin’s Tweet regarding the same—

What’s next?

Rusev is presently set to participate in the 50-Man Royal Rumble Match which takes place at the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 27th.

Author’s take

Truth be told, Rusev sure knows how to elicit lively and passionate responses from whichever individual or community he chooses to address.

While Hollywood personalities may be intrigued by the prospect of facing Rusev inside the squared-circle, competing against “The Bulgarian Brute” when he’s unleashing “Machka” kicks on you doesn’t seem like the best idea.

Happy Rusev Day!
