WWE News: Matt Hardy calls out Impact President Ed Nordholm

The Hardy Boyz have teased going “Broken” since their WWE return

What’s the story?

WWE Superstar Matt Hardy called out Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm for not letting him use his ‘Broken’ gimmick while responding to a fan’s tweet.

In case you didn’t know…

The ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy character came to the fore just about a year ago during a feud between Matt and his brother Jeff Hardy on Impact Wrestling. Having been beaten by Jeff on two successive occasions, Matt challenged him to one final match wherein the winner would become the sole owner of the ‘Hardy’ brand.

‘Mattitude’ won the match which was held at their home in Cameron, North Carolina and forced his brother to drop his surname. Jeff Hardy was given the name ‘Brother Nero’ by Matt and their tag team was known as The Broken Hardys.

The heart of the matter

A fan posted a tweet addressing Impact Wrestling on May 7th telling them that Matt and Jeff Hardy are not losing out on anything due to the dispute over the ‘Broken’ gimmick. Instead, it’s the promotion itself and the fans who are losing out.

Matt Hardy responded with a tweet of his own stating that Impact Wrestling does not care about the fans. He also claimed that Ed Nordholm, the promotion’s President, wants to keep the Broken Universe created by him hostage from the fans who want to see it.

Here are the tweets from Matt and the fan:

Since their return to the WWE at WrestleMania 33, The Hardy Boyz have been using their former gimmick in the company. However, the fans have shown eagerness towards seeing ‘The Broken Hardys’ gimmick, especially with the ‘Delete’ chants that fill the air every time the Raw Tag Team Champions make their way out.

What’s next?

The Hardy Boys are currently engaged in a feud with Cesaro and Sheamus who attacked them after failing to win the Raw Tag Team titles at the Payback pay-per-view.

Author’s take

The WWE Universe has already been kept on the edge of their seats by The Hardy Boys from the moment they have rejoined the WWE. ‘The Broken Hardys’ gimmick would only be an incredible addition to this excitement.
