From The WWE Rumor Mill: Multiple title changes expected for Hell In A Cell

Coul

Could some champions be leaving without their titles after Hell In A Cell?

What's the story?

Hell In A Cell promises to be a great show highlighted by a few encounters which could get rather insane.

Every title on WWE's Blue Team is on the line and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that it was pretty clear by the way the stories were told on SmackDown Live that a couple title changes are on the way for Detroit's Cell-centered extravaganza.

In case you didn't know...

The Usos are making history as they try and capture the New Day's SmackDown Tag Team Titles inside the unforgiving Hell In A Cell.

Naomi is putting her SmackDown Women's Title on the line against Charlotte Flair. Jinder Mahal will try and keep his WWE Championship as Shinsuke Nakamura gets another chance to take it from him. AJ Styles will also defend his US Title against "The Lone Wolf" Baron Corbin.

The heart of the matter

Dave Meltzer noted in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that as the go-home episode of SmackDown Live concluded it was made apparent that a couple title switches were probably in store for Hell In A Cell.

Meltzer noted the only way to make sense out of the go-home SmackDown Live leading into Hell In A Cell is to read that AJ Styles and Natalya were going to be dropping their titles in Detroit.

As Charlotte Flair tapped out of Natalya's Sharpshooter it put the babyface at a disadvantage and underdog status with something to prove. It should also be noted that WWE might want Charlotte Flair carrying around a title as she makes all of those media appearances while promoting her new book.

It was also noted how Baron Corbin losing clean to Tye Dillinger should put The Lone Wolf in a position to overcome AJ Styles during their match at Hell In A Cell as well.

What's next?

Just because someone wins a title at a pay-per-view doesn't mean they won't lose the title on the next time they appear on television. With WWE's recent trend of rapid title switching that is very possible.

On that same regard, it might be possible for The Usos to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles once more.

It's been rumoured WWE might allow The New Day to beat the all-time Tag Team Champion record at seven reigns. If they lose the Tag Titles at Hell In A Cell, then they'll be much closer to getting those titles back and gaining steam on breaking that record.

Author's take

Hell In A Cell is going to be fun. The nonstop action provided by the incredibly talented Superstars on SmackDown Live will provide for some moments we won't soon forget. Let's just hope they're able to stay safe as they put it all on the line in Detroit.
