WWE News: Photo of actress Florence Pugh as Paige

Pugh as Paige

What’s the story?

English actress Florence Pugh has shared a photograph of herself as Paige, whom she’ll be seen portraying in the upcoming movie Fighting With My Family.

In case you didn’t know...

Paige, whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis has performed for WWE since her debut in its developmental territories back in 2011. The 24-year old British Superstar is a former NXT Women’s champion and 2-time WWE Divas champ as well.

British actress Florence Pugh was chosen to essay the role of Paige in Fighting With My Family- a biopic that will reportedly chronicle the journey of Saraya-Jade and her family from the regional circuit in the UK to the big-leagues in WWE.

The heart of the matter

Below is the photograph shared by Florence Pugh as Paige in Fighting With My Family:

The biopic will be written and directed by Stephen Merchant and produced in part by WWE Studios, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the Executive Producer.

What’s next?

Fighting With My Family will be distributed by MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) and stars Florence Pugh as Paige, Lena Headey as Julia ‘Sweet Saraya’ Bevis (Paige’s mother), Nick Frost as Patrick ‘Rowdy Ricky Knight’ Bevis (father), Jack Lowden as Zak ‘Zodiac’ Bevis (brother), Vince Vaughn as Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, Thea Trinidad as April ‘AJ Lee’ Brooks and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as himself.

The project was officially announced in February of this year and no official release date has been revealed thus far.

Author’s take

Paige is currently going through a rough patch in her career- a phase that started last year after the young Brit suffered a career-threatening neck injury that’s kept her out of action to date. Besides, the recent video/pic leak controversy involving private content of hers being stolen and circulated on the web has added to her woes.

Nevertheless, the former Divas champion trucks on in the face of adversity and has now returned to her jovial self as evidenced by her multiple public appearances and social media activity after the controversy.

I think I speak on behalf of the entire pro-wrestling community when I say that we eagerly await Fighting With My Family. Please come back Paige, the WWE Universe loves you!
