WWE News: Ric Flair predicts Seth Rollins to win the Universal Championship

Flair is a 16 time World Champion and a 2 time Hall of Famer

The name Ric Flair is synonymous with wrestling fans world over. During his vibrant career spanning over four decades, the “Nature Boy” was a 16 time world champion. He was last seen on television accompanying his daughter Charlotte during her first championship reign as her mentor.

The 67-year-old veteran on the recent episode of his online podcast, The Ric Flair show, gave his stamp of approval to Seth Rollins. Flair was asked who he thinks, and who he wants to win the vacant WWE Universal Championship in the Fatal-4-Way match at next Monday's RAW.

"Oh, wow. Give me all the contestants again," said Flair. "I like Seth Rollins", Flair responded after learning that Rollins, Reigns, Big Cass and Kevin Owens were in contention for the title. Flair went on to say that he did not need to hear the other names because he apparently heard Rollins’ name and that was all he needed to hear.

Flair and his co-host Conrad Thompson however, steered clear of Bret Hart’s recent criticism of Rollins’ in-ring style. Hart had earlier taken a dig at Rollins saying that he believed someone could get killed if Rollins continued to wrestle the way he does. This is not the first time that Bret has commented on Rollins’ in-ring abilities. Hart had also called Rollins reckless when the latter had injured his knee at a live event in Ireland last November.

"The Nature Boy" made it very clear that he feels Rollins is a talented in-ring performer. In fact, he ranked Rollins as one of the top three wrestlers in the business today.

"I think they all have a lot of talent," said Flair of the four men who will attempt to win the title that Finn Balor was forced to relinquish on last week's Raw due to a shoulder injury. "But Seth Rollins is one of the two or three best in the business right now."

When asked about his views on the WWE World Championship match that would see AJ Styles go one-on-one against Dean Ambrose at Backlash, Flair said that if Styles were to win the title and Rollins won the Universal Championship on Raw this Monday night, WWE would have the greatest group of world champions in the company right now.

Flair said that the cream of the crop were holding major titles in the WWE right now that includes the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura as NXT Champion, Asuka as NXT Women’s Champion, Charlotte as Women’s Champion. He felt that Rollins and Styles should be the two names holding the Universal Championship and World Championship after their respective matches on Raw and Backlash.
