Last week, a lot happened in the WWE Universe – both on and off the TV. From the beginning of new feuds to end of old ones, the promotion saw several big events unfold en route to SummerSlam. Now that WWE are set to host the ‘Biggest Party of Summer’ at Performance Center, a lot of big names rumoured to be a part of the PPV have now been scrapped.
Despite that, WWE have managed to set the tone for the PPV with a brilliant episode of SmackDown last week. The closing moments of the show saw ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt attack Alexa Bliss a week after she was teased as Sister Abigail during the Wyatt Swamp Fight.
The show ended with a cliff-hanger and generated a lot of interest amidst the fans. The change in the tone of the shows is in sync with the things that happened outside the ring. #5 WWE fan pays $400 to ask Alexa Bliss out on a date
Alexa Bliss recently received a unique proposal from a fan named Antonio who paid around $400 ($399 to be precise) in order to ask the WWE Superstar on a date. This entire episode unfolded on Cameo, a website on which the fans and supporters can seek customised video shout-outs from their favourite WWE personalities.
Alexa Bliss’ fan took it a step further and decided to use the platform to try his luck with the WWE Superstar. Bliss, however, was extremely polite in her reply while she denied his request. Here’s what Bliss had to say to her fan.
“Hi Antonio. First, I just wanted to say, thank you so much for your message. That was so sweet of you to write to me. I'm extremely flattered with your request, but unfortunately, I am seeing someone. But, I know there is someone out there for you. I know it's a little hard right now with everything going out with COVID and having to stay inside, so I hope you're staying inside, staying healthy, and happy, but I know once everything clears up, you've got to get out there. You know, just get out there, meet someone, and someone will show you what it means to be loved. Someone will show you that you deserve all the happiness in the world and be treated in the best way possible and I know that there is someone out there for you. Just got to keep looking. Alexa Bliss had a great response to her fan’s request and accompanied that with a sweet suggestion of her own.
#4 Vince McMahon comments on Paul Heyman's firing from WWE RAW
WWE recently received their quarterly reports, and the company's profits exceeded everyone's expectations. While WWE saw a loss in revenue owing to the fall in sales of tickets and merchandise, they still managed to save a lot while producing the shows from the Performance Center. A detailed memo about the quarterly reports was released which also had Vince McMahon's comments on Paul Heyman.
Paul Heyman was fired from his role as the executive director of RAW last month. It was reported that Heyman took the biggest fall amidst the concerns about WWE RAW's ratings. While addressing his staff, Vince McMahon stated that Paul Heyman did a good job on the Red brand. Here's what his comment read:
"As far as Paul Heyman's concerned, he did a very good job in terms of creativity."
Vince McMahon further emphasized that he wants RAW and SmackDown to feel more youthful. He talked about Triple H helping out with both those shows and stated that he needs all hands on deck during such difficult times.
#4 WWE Superstar Miz responds to CM Punk’s comments, “I thought we were friends.”
Former WWE Superstar CM Punk is often seen taking digs at The Miz and has subjected the latter to harsh words quite often. Miz finally addressed those comments in a recent interview with 411Mania. He said that he has no idea why CM Punk made such comments about him in the past. Miz revealed that he used to think that they are friends.
Miz talked about CM Punk and said that he doesn’t get his former WWE colleague and his hatred towards him. Here’s what Miz had to say:
“I have no idea, to be honest with you. Like, I still to this day have no idea. To be honest, I thought we were friends. #2 Update on WWE Superstar Becky Lynch’s health
Following the Money in the Bank PPV, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch announced that she is pregnant and relinquished her RAW Women’s Championship. She is expected to be off TV for a long time. She recently made an appearance on The Bella Twins Podcast where she shared details about her pregnancy and gave an update on her health.
Becky Lynch mentioned that she has been nauseous and exhausted. The WWE Superstar revealed that she ended up losing weight because she couldn’t eat and she is overly cautious about everything.

“I felt sick the whole time. Just nauseous. That was it really. I was still able to work out. I wasn’t exhausted, but I don’t have that, you know in the gym, I can’t push anymore. I don’t know if that’s like a mental thing where I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna,’ you know, I’m just, you don’t know what’s going on, so you’re worried about everything, because I don’t know, I’ve never felt this before, so I don’t know what to do and what not to do, so I think I was a little overly cautious about everything. After Becky Lynch's exit, the title was handed to Money in the Bank winner Asuka. The latter then lost her title to Sasha Banks and couldn't claim it back on the last week's episode of RAW.
#1 Aleister Black teases change in WWE gimmick
WWE Superstar Aleister Black hasn’t had the best of time on RAW in the last few weeks. He was one of the key allies that Rey Mysterio had in his feud against Seth Rollins. While Aleister Black is usually booked strongly on RAW, the last few weeks saw the WWE Superstar involved in not so flattering segments.
On the last week’s episode of RAW, we saw Murphy injure Aleister Black in the same manner in which Seth Rollins had attacked Rey Mysterio – by pressing his eye against the corner of the steel steps. This segment seemingly ruled out Black for the time being.
Following the show, Aleister Black took to his social media handle and shared a cryptic post, teasing a big change in his character. Here’s what his post read:
“And now I must re-write 4 years of my own history by getting rid of that weakness. The same weakness that caused this betrayal, this is where my accountability ends, and yours starts.”
