#3 Reasons why Zelina Vega wanted to return to WWE

Zelina Vega appeared on WWE SmackDown last month to kick off her new stint in the company. On the 'Talk is Jericho' podcast, her husband, Malakai Black, recently said that Vega wanted to return to WWE so they could be together on the same brand.

This was one of the main reasons why she engaged in talks for a comeback. Unfortunately, the higher-ups released Black on June 2.

During an interview with Stephanie Chase, Zelina Vega added that she had "unfinished business" in WWE, as winning the SmackDown Women's Championship is one of her main goals these days.

"I think more than anything, WWE has always been a place that I felt like I had some kind of unfinished business with. For me, as a kid, you're like I want to be a champion and there are so many things you want to accomplish. Coming back, I set my eyes on the SmackDown Women's Championship. That's what I'm focused on the most and seeing where that takes me. After Bianca vs. Sasha, who knows. Will it be Bianca that remains champion or will it be Sasha? Either one, I'm coming after them and I can't wait for that," said Zelina Vega.

Unlike her managerial stint in the company, Zelina Vega believes that she can now express herself as an in-ring performer more efficiently.

"As a manager, I never got to add too much of a lucha style to me." Vega continued, "Now, I can display that, especially with people like Toni Storm, Bianca, and Sasha. It's cool to mix it up with them and see a whole new side of me."
