WWE News: Shinsuke Nakamura and Dolph Ziggler compete in dark match after 205 Live

Nakamura will face Ziggler at Backlash

What’s the story?

Shinsuke Nakamura and Dolph Ziggler competed in a dark match yet again after the 205 Live tapings this Tuesday night. ‘The Artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura’ defeated ‘The Showoff’ in the matchup, just days before their clash at the upcoming Backlash PPV this Sunday.

In case you didn’t know...

Nakamura is a 15-year veteran of the sport and is widely considered as one of the best performers in professional wrestling today. ‘The King of Strong Style’ made his NXT debut last year and his main roster debut last month on SmackDown Live.

The heart of the matter

Nakamura and Ziggler are currently involved in a feud that has seen both Superstars trade exchanges back-and-forth over the past few weeks on SD Live, although they are yet to officially compete in a singles match yet.

Here are a few videos of their most recent dark match below:

They have, however, competed one-on-one at several live events and dark matchups, including a few during the WWE’s recent tour of Europe.

What’s next?

Shinsuke Nakamura will face Dolph Ziggler at the upcoming SmackDown brand-exclusive Backlash PPV Sunday, May 21st at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Author's Take

Shinsuke Nakamura is not only one of the best technicians in pro-wrestling today, but also an out-and-out entertainer. He’s very charismatic, fit as a fiddle and can wrestle all kinds of matches.

I’m really excited for the Backlash showdown between Swagsuke and Dolph Ziggler, with the latter, in my opinion, being one of the most underrated WWE Superstars of the current crop. Backlash is going to be exciting!
