As reported by WrestleZone, former Intercontinental Champion The Miz has discussed getting cheered at WrestleMania 33 during his mixed tag team match against John Cena & Nikki Bella. Miz spoke about the issue during an interview with the aforementioned website.
In case you didn’t know...
For months and months now Miz has been building his way back up to relevancy on SmackDown Live, going from being an everyday midcarder to someone who is more than capable of challenging for a world title once again. The Awesome One has not held such an accolade since his run as WWE Champion during late 2010 and early 2011.

The heart of the matter
In the interview, The Miz said that the experience of getting cheered was new to him and that he just decided to have fun with it. Here are his exact words:
“Weird. You know, I had no idea what to do. I’ve never had that experience of people cheering me. I was like ‘I don’t even understand what’s happening right now. They’re cheering me.’
So I just decided to accept it and have fun with it and go with it. And my wife and I had such an amazing time. Not only did we get to walk the aisle together, like we always do now in WWE, not only did we get to go in the ring, but we got to wrestle in the ring together and I thought that was really really cool.”
What’s next?
With The Miz making a move over to Monday Night Raw, it’s starting to seem as if he will be thrust back into a feud for the IC Title with Dean Ambrose. With the red brand being incredibly stacked in terms of top talent, it doesn’t seem as if he’ll get a world title shot anytime soon, especially considering that the Universal Champion is back home on a farm in Canada.

You can tell that the cheers really did mean a lot to Miz, and we’re confident that it wasn’t just happening because he was facing Cena and Nikki. Miz and Maryse have been a revelation together, and we thoroughly hope to see their rise to the top continue throughout the remainder of 2017.
