WWE News: The New Day on The Usos, Dolph Ziggler gives surprising take on John Cena, and more
What’s the story?
The WWE has put forth the preview for WWE Fastlane, featuring hosts Renee Young and Cathy Kelly who speak to The New Day and Dolph Ziggler.
While The New Day take shots at The Usos, Ziggler primarily weighed in on how one of his Fastlane opponents, John Cena, would be coming into their match with “fresh legs”. Besides, Ziggler also opened up on wanting to have a WrestleMania moment.
In case you didn’t know…
The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) were involved in a critically-acclaimed feud over the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships last year.
On the other hand, experts believe that Dolph Ziggler is expected to receive a push in the days to come, and compete against Shane McMahon in a marquee matchup at WrestleMania 34.
The heart of the matter
The New Day asserted that despite The Usos accusing them of propagating a light-hearted style of competition replete with unicorns and things of the sort, as proven by their Hell in a Cell encounter last year, The New Day is capable of turning the heat on and going hard in a match against The Usos.
Additionally, The New Day claimed that The Usos ought to thank them for helping bring the latter team from the WWE Pre-Shows to the PPV section of the card.
Furthermore, Dolph Ziggler elucidated that after taking a brief hiatus from in-ring WWE competition last year, he realized the value of competing in the ring, and is now motivated to have a WrestleMania moment and possibly compete against a legend in a marquee match at WrestleMania 34.
Ziggler added that although he may tease John Cena, and give the latter a hard time for his “Hustle. Loyalty. Respect.” gimmick, the fact remains that Cena isn’t merely a gimmick. Ziggler continued that Cena practices what he preaches, and backs up his values with hard work, which in turn helps “The Champ” retain the freshness of his character in the long run.
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos defend their titles against The New Day tonight at the Fastlane PPV.
Meanwhile, also on the card is the 6-Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship with reigning titleholder AJ Styles defending his title against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, John Cena & Dolph Ziggler.
Well, The New Day seem to be making bold statements against their longtime rivals, which in turn is likely to elicit a sharp response from The Usos.
As for Dolph Ziggler, he’s spot-on in his assessment of John Cena. The 16-time World Champion is much more than a character; he’s hustle, loyalty, and respect personified.
