WWE News: What happened after RAW went off air
The RAW episode, following Survivor Series, settled many debates which were left unresolved last night. While we cherished various moments that adorned our screen, let us find out what happened when the lights went out at The Great North.
Sami Zayn delivered a stellar performance at Survivor Series, despite his valiant effort, he still fell short of capturing the Gold, courtesy of Maryse. As a result, Mick Foley announced that Zayn would take on Braun Strowman, later in the night, to bear ‘the consequences of his failures’.
WWE are currently high on squash matches, and this was no different. After Strowman’s seven-minute methodical breakdown of Zayn, Foley came out to his rescue and ordered the match to be stopped.
However, the damage was already done, and Zayn had to receive medical treatment during the commercial break after the mauling he endured. The Candian was left bewildered and had to be assisted by referees, as he made his way to the locker room, in an attempt to forget the beating he received from the sadistic Giant.
Check out the video of the incident backstage, that you probably missed as the programme went to commercials:
Seth Rollins got a huge pop from the Toronto crowd, as he left the ring, battered and bruised, after interference from Jericho cost him his No Disqualification match against Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. Y2J dressed as a luchador was amidst the crowd and attacked Rollins from behind after the bout moved into the stands.
This bought Owens some time to come back with a super kick, followed by a pop-up powerbomb off the apron.
When the show went off-air, Rollins was still on the floor, while the two best friends celebrated Owens’ win. Rollins was seen stumbling across the ring, as the crowd came to its feet to thank Rollins for his valiant effort against the Champion. Check out the video below:
Bulgarian brute Rusev and his spouse, ravishing Russian Lana were also seen in a backstage segment with one of the interviewers. He defeated Amore, earlier in the night, and appealed to Foley to feed him some ‘real opponents’.
The Club was also involved in an interview, as they aim to end New Day’s run as champions. Watch the Club warn the tag-team champs that their fairytale is about to end:
The New Day were also seen giving an interview, as they are ready to become the greatest tag champions of all times. Check out their entertaining off-air segment below.
