WWE News: Woken Matt Hardy makes in-ring debut on Monday Night Raw

DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!
DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!

After nearly a year of anticipation and months of toying with us, Woken Matt Hardy made his WWE debut but he hasn't wrestled on Raw yet. Now WWE has announced via Twitter that Woken Matt Hardy will make his in-ring debut on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

It took a long road to get us to this point, but after all the legal mumbo jumbo and resistance from Impact Wrestling, Hardy is free to be Woken and use all the mannerisms from his beloved Broken Universe.

Tonight’s episode of Raw emanates from the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee and will bear witness to Hardy returning to in-ring action for the first time since his defeat at the hands of Bray Wyatt on the November 27, 2017 episode of Raw.

Wyatt defeated Matt Hardy in their first encounter, but then Hardy showed the first signs of Woken Matt Hardy emerging as he sat in the corner doing the “Delete” hand gesture with the camera lingering on him.

No opponent has been named for Hardy, but WWE may end up using a wrestler who isn’t as prominently featured; similar to Wyatt’s match last week against Apollo Crews of the Titus Worldwide.

The feud between both men in WWE dates back to November, but their history goes back even further to when The Hardys were signed with Impact Wrestling.

The feud actually began in July 2016 when Hardy reacted to The Wyatt Family/New Day segment from the Wyatt Family compound which strongly resembled the Final Deletion match between Matt and Jeff Hardy.

Bray Wyatt would respond by saying he was the most creative wrestler in the industry and his character preceded the Broken Universe.

Months later, Matt Hardy would extend an invitation to the Wyatt Family to compete at the Impact Wrestling's Total Nonstop Deletion. Wyatt responded saying The Hardys knew where to find them.

Neither the Hardys or the Wyatt Family are still teaming today, so the long-awaited battle will eventually be between the instigators of the feud. It will be absolutely DELIGHTFUL!
