WWE News: WWE hits back at Paige, says she lied about her drug test

Is this the end of Paige’s WWE career?

Things don’t seem to be going down well between WWE and Paige. She was suspended a few days before Summerslam and while the suspension ended last month around the 17th, in less than a month, she received a 60-day suspension, once again for WWE’s Wellness Policy Violation. She took to twitter to lash out against WWE

Her boyfriend Alberto Del Rio commented on the situation to ESPN as well when he said: “It’s just as she said, same shit, different day”. However, WWE has not taken well to Paige’s comments, as they issued a statement to New York Post telling their side of the story.

Saraya-Jade Bevis tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug. In addition, WWE is providing world-class medical care for her in-ring injury.

New York Post also mentioned that the statement tried to discredit the statement made by Ricky Legend, Paige’s father on Facebook. Ricky said on Facebook that Paige has had long-term neck injuries which had not been dealt with and that she took painkillers prescribed by the doctors.

This apparently was not in accordance with the WWE’s Wellness Policy. Yesterday on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said that all WWE talents are well aware of the fact that when they take such substances, they have to be prescribed by the WWE doctors and not outside ones.

Also, he noted that since the suspension is an unpaid one, Paige would have lost out on 3 months worth of pay this year, which is 1/4th of her annual salary. Also, another issue if Paige leaves is that WWE won’t pay for her neck surgery which she is to have.

He proceeded to say that while she could go to TNA and get a huge push, and while she could definitely make a living on the independent circuit, it is not nearly the amount which Cody Rhodes is currently making and that long-term she has far more to lose than gain by leaving WWE.

Issues have been stemming for Paige ever since her relationship with Alberto Del Rio was made public around May. Her first suspension, according to her, was not due to a failure of a drug test, but simply her not handing over the test on time. Although there has been no one to confirm the claim, there hasn’t been anyone denying it either.
