What’s the story?

On a recent edition of his podcast X-Pac 12360, Sean "X-Pac" Waltman spoke with comedian, announcer and interviewer Kevin Gill.

Waltman addressed the ongoing sexual assault controversy involving Enzo Amore. Expounding on the same, he gave his two cents on how Amore should’ve handled the situation.

In case you didn’t know…

A young woman by the name of Philomena Sheahan recently took to Twitter to accuse then-WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore of sexual assault.

Sheahan alleged that Amore forced himself on her while she was intoxicated and vulnerable. The incident transpired in October of last year, and the police have been investigating the case ever since.

The heart of the matter

As we’d previously reported, upon getting wind of the aforementioned sexual assault allegations, the WWE suspended Enzo Amore immediately. However, on learning that Amore hid the fact that he was being investigated over the past several months, the WWE chose to fire him right away.

X-Pac stated the following on how Enzo Amore could’ve handled the entire situation:

“Obviously he may or may have not done this, I am hoping it’s the may not part because you know … But I mean who knows…It will play out, the investigation will take its course and either charges will be filed or they won’t be. He should have got on top of this instead of stuffing it under the rug, and also quit putting yourself in situations every week of your life where something like this can happen, where you’re leaving yourself open for anything to happen.”

What’s next?

Enzo Amore is now no longer a part of the WWE roster—with his contract terminated and WWE being a top-tier corporation, experts believe that he’s unlikely to ever return to the WWE.

Author’s take

Enzo Amore is a talented professional wrestling performer—great on the mic, though a tad inexperienced on the mat—whose career has taken a huge hit with the ongoing fiasco.

While it would be wrong to blame either party in this case right now, one has let them have their day in court, before passing any judgment on any of the people involved. Here’s hoping justice is served.
