WWE NXT Preview: Crucial Ladder match for advantage at WarGames, Finn Balor's next prey amidst invasion, and more

Here's what can happen at NXT tonight
Here's what can happen at NXT tonight

The NXT roster did not shy away from establishing themselves as the best brand by invading RAW and SmackDown in the last two weeks. In fact, last week we even saw The OC take on Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle, and Keith Lee.

This week, there’s an important Ladder match which will award an advantage to either Team Rhea Ripley or Team Shayna Baszler heading into the first-ever Women’s WarGames match. Moreover, we could also see Finn Balor finally confirm his intentions heading into Survivor Series.

Lio Rush has his title on the line and will look to defend his gold against Angel Garza. In the meantime, Bayley might seek an opportunity to lead the invasion of NXT after being ignored during Shayna Baszler and Becky Lynch's confrontation.

Will there be a title change at the Black and Gold brand tonight? Will Killian Dane put an end to his carnage after a confrontation with Pete Dunne? Let’s find out.

#5 Crucial Ladder match for WarGames advantage

Both Superstars desperately need to win an advantage for their team
Both Superstars desperately need to win an advantage for their team

Last week, we saw Rhea Ripley choose Mia Yim over Dakota Kai to join her team for the first-ever Women’s WarGames match in WWE history. Apart from Yim, Ripley’s team also features Candice LeRae and Tegan Nox.

They will head into the historic match to lock horns with Shayna Baszler and her team comprising of Io Shirai and Bianca Belair. Tonight’s show will see Shirai and Yem lock horns in a ladder match to determine the advantage of sending a team member into the battle first inside the double cages of WarGames.

Both these women will look to win an upper-hand for their respective teams by beating their opponent tonight.

The events that transpired last week also hinted at a possible heel turn for Dakota Kai. And she might interfere in this match to make a statement.

#4 Bayley leads the invasion on NXT

Bayley to lead invasion on NXT?

For the past couple of weeks, we have seen the NXT roster invade RAW and SmackDown. During that, we saw Shayna Baszler attack Bayley two weeks in a row as well as confront Becky Lynch on Monday Night RAW.

However, both Baszler and Lynch refused to recognize Bayley as a threat and that irked the SmackDown Women’s Champion. On Monday, we saw her attack Becky Lynch and this week, we could see her lead SmackDown’s invasion of the Black and Gold brand.

It will be interesting to see the former NXT Women’s Champion take command and respond to the vicious attacks laid on her in the past. She is expected to be accompanied by Sasha Banks and fellow SmackDown Superstars who will look to settle their score with the NXT locker room.

Bayley might attack Baszler right after the Ladder match which will prompt the latter’s teammates to come to her rescue. This will be a perfect opportunity for a brawl that may see the female Superstars of the Blue brand making a statement tonight.

#3 Lio Rush vs Angel Garza for NXT Cruiserweight Championship

That's definitely not what the Champion had in mind
That's definitely not what the Champion had in mind

After defeating Tony Nese last week, Angel Garza won the opportunity to challenge Lio Rush for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Right after the match, we saw Rush walking out to congratulate his next challenger.

He offered to shake hands with Garza but the latter ended up slapping the current Champion. This accounted for an interesting build-up for their upcoming fight in which Garza will look to beat Rush and get his hands on the title.

However, if we know anything about the ‘Man of the Hour’, he doesn’t respond kindly to the insults. Both Garza and Rush are high-flying Superstars with matching pace. It will be interesting to see how each of them improvises their offense to conquer their opponent.

It’s highly unlikely that Rush will drop his title tonight. However, even if Garza fails to win, their match can lay down the path for a grueling rivalry.

#2 Killian Dain continues to create havoc?

Unfinished business is not healthy for Killian Dain
Unfinished business is not healthy for Killian Dain

A frustrated Killian Dain is keen on destroying Pete Dunne. As we saw last week, he attacked Dunne after the latter’s match with Damian Priest.

The 'Beast of Belfast' showed no mercy while manhandling Dunne and crushed him against the stairs right outside the ring. He also went on to attack Priest and created havoc with his actions for the second week in a row.

Tonight, we might see Dain continuing with his assault but it is difficult to imagine who his next target is. He is determined on doing anything he can to get in Dunne’s head and it is pretty much working.

Their rivalry might also see Dain seeking alliance on the roster as Dunne already has friends who back him up during their fight. Hopefully, we will see a confrontation between both these Superstars soon so that a match between them can be booked at the upcoming PPV.

#1 What’s next for Finn Balor?

The Prince will do what he wants
The Prince will do what he wants

WWE Superstar Finn Balor has been one of the biggest highlights of pro-wrestling business for weeks now. Last time, we saw him interfere during the match between The OC and Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle and Keith Lee.

Balor went on to attack Ciampa which left AJ Styles smiling inside the ring. But before anyone could speculate a possible alliance of these friends, we saw Adam Cole attack the ‘Phenomenal One’.

Balor has neither confirmed nor denied an association with The Undisputed Era. However, his actions have always favored the faction and could lead to an interesting storyline involving him and the group leader, Adam Cole.

We could also see Ciampa confronting Balor for his action that may lead to a match. They share a brief history but are likely to delay the beginning of their feud until Survivor Series is over.

Will Ciampa focus on bringing in two more members to represent team NXT for the upcoming battle of brand supremacy or will he choose to square off against Balor tonight?
