WWE NXT Results: Former US Champion interferes in NXT title match; Big upset in Dusty Cup finals

Bron Breakker (c) vs. Santos Escobar - NXT Title match at Vengeance Day

Breakker started off strong in the main event on NXT Vengeance Day and got a headlock in early in the match before Escobar took him down with a big dropkick. Breakker hit a stalling vertical suplex before a distraction from the Legado let Escobar hit a big dive to the outside.

Santos hit an inverted stunner on the apron before getting some big knees in the corner for a near fall. Escobar used the steel ring post and steps to punish Breakker before locking in a stretch in the ring.

Breakker hit some big strikes after blocking a big move from Escobar before Mendosa and Wilde ran a distraction but were wiped out. Ziggler ran in the ring and hit a superkick before Escobar used the opportunity to get a near fall.

Ciampa came in and dragged Ziggler outside the ring and into the stands. Breakker dodged a frog splash in the ring before lifting Escobar for the standing powerslam and picking up the win.

Result: Bron Breakker def. Santos Escobar to retain the NXT Championship

We got some great matches tonight on NXT Vengeance Day with a hard-hitting cage match and the conclusion to the Dusty Cup. We got three big title matches while Knight and Ziggler set up two big matches for next week's show.
