WWE Rumours: Paige reportedly quit WWE sometime last week before the two parties agreed on terms

The former Divas Champion, Paige will be making her return to the squared circle very soon. While she was on a hiatus to recover from a back and shoulder injury, WWE announced her 30-day suspension from the company for violating its Talent Wellness policy.

As Paige and her real-life boyfriend Alberto Del Rio were suspended on the exact same day, several wrestling fans speculated that the two had generated some backstage heat. Although their suspension may have been coincidental, it is true that some of the officials were unhappy over the relationship status of Paige and Del Rio. In fact, there are rumors that she was threatened about her contract with WWE due to this issue.

With the eventual release of the former World Champion, there was a feeling that Paige will also leave the WWE. Several reports even indicated that the ‘Anti-Diva’ had appointed an attorney to smoothen her ways to quit the company.

Amidst such situation, Paige took to Twitter to respond to such rumors and clarified that she will resume working for WWE very soon. The scenario seems confusing but a recent report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer may help to clear it up.

According to Meltzer, Paige reportedly quit WWE at some point in the past few days. Moreover, WWE almost decided to terminate her contract but the lack of depth on the RAW Women’s Division forced them to reconsider such plans. As a result, both the parties decided to settle the situation on a mutual agreement, and her return to the company was finalised.

In her recent tweet, Paige also discussed the reason behind her suspension :

"Although I was disappointed by my suspension, I respect the WWE's wellness policy. However, let me be clear that I was not suspended for failing a drug test, it was mere due to a procedural issue. I took the test, I passed it. I arranged said test to happen after I wasn't at my home when Aegis contacted me. So I drove 200 miles to do it. Unfortunately, I didn't do it in time, according to Aegis. Once again, thank you for all the love and support!"

It has been confirmed that Aegis went to her home to perform the drug test but she wasn’t there. Apparently, she was in Texas with Alberto Del Rio at that time. Eventually, she took that test and passed. But it was considered as a violation of the Wellness policy since it was delayed by the WWE Superstar.
