WWE Payback 2016 : Top 10 Best Moments

WWE Payback 2016 took place in Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, Chicago.
WWE Payback 2016 was a delight for hardcore wrestling marks but as far as the storyline momentum of the company goes, it was kind of a disappointment. Anyways, this year's Payback pay-per-view will go down in history as one of the best WWE events of the year in terms of Wrestling. Here are the TOP 10 Moments from WWE Payback 2016.

1. The Show Off slams The Lone Wolf

Baron Corbin lost his first singles PPV

Dolph Ziggler finally got a pay-per-view win after a really long time. It was amazing to see the former World Champion end his losing streak on Pay-Per-Views but on the other hand, Baron Corbin lost his first singles match at a Pay Per View, which is a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, it was a solid match and might have set up a legit feud between the two.

2. The Big Guy fails, Lucha retains

Ryback lost again but put up an entertaining match.

This match was an unexpected delight for many. There was not much to the feud but the match was pretty amusing. Both men created a hype for the main show and successfully ended the pre-show. Great Match. Props to both of the competitors.

3. Zayn and Owens create magic again, put up the Match of the Night

Owens and Zayn have a chemistry that very few wrestlers have in the business.

These two are some of the most treasured wrestlers of the company. They have a splendid chemistry between them and when they step into the ring against each other, the match can only be described by one word, MAGIC. These two stole the show and showed us once again that NXT is making some of the greatest wrestlers in the world and don't plan to stop anytime soon.

4. Fatal Four-Way feud for the Intercontinental Championship begins

Swiss Superman making The Miz tap out to the Yes! Lock.

Cesaro proved why he's so loved by the audience again. The man is truly a Swiss Superman. He delivers each and every time he steps into the squared circle. The Awesome One wasn't bad either. The end could have been better but no complaints since this match will lead to a clustered feud between Owens, Cesaro, Zayn and Miz. Things are about to get damn serious in the mid-card.

5. Ambrose Asylum kicks out The Highlight Reel

Y2J and Ambrose put up one of the best matches of the night.

A match that marked the end of an era and the talk show host of the Attitude Era passed the torch to one of the upcoming talk show hosts of the Modern Era. A beautiful match, probably marking the end of a feud. If not, then we are in for some technically magical matches. Kudos to Jericho, he is back to putting over young talents.

6. The Sibling Wars are back

Stephanie and Shane hinting a heated feud.

Vince McMahon announced on Payback that Monday Night RAW will be run by both Stephanie and Shane McMahon. This can mean only one thing and that is WAR. Shane's plan of a New Era or Stephanie's sinister Authority? Who'll win?

7. Chicago asks Enzo, "HOW YOU DOING?"

Enzo Amore being treated after suffering a severe concussion.

The biggest mouth in the company right now had to suffer from an unfortunate concussion. He got stuck in between the ropes and had an unfortunate fall to the mat. It appears that Enzo is actually doing good and fortunately hasn't lost any of his memories. We wish him a fast recovery.

8. Montreal Screw Job v2.0, Ladies and Gentlemen, we had the Chicago Screw Job

Bret “The Hitman” Hart and his niece Natalya apply sharpshooters on Ric Flair and his daughter, Charlotte.

"WHAT Just Happened?", said the crowd. The Montreal Screwjob was repeated. Why? We don't know. Did it work, though? We don't know that either. All we know is that this was a bizarre ending.

Charles Robinson played Earl Hebner's part, Natalya played her uncle who was watching from the ringside and Charlotte HBK. It is probably something to look forward to.

9. The bizarre yet delightful main event

AJ Styles hitting Roman Reigns with The Phenomenal Forearm

First, AJ Styles wins by count out. Then, the match gets restarted by Shane McMahon.

Again, AJ Styles wins by DQ. But, out comes Stephanie McMahon and restarts the match again and stipulates it as a No DQ No Countout Match. All three stages of this Main Event were a delight for hardcore wrestling fans.

10. AJ vs Roman hasn't ended yet

This feud has more to it than the WWE Universe expects. Stay tuned.

Yes. The Phenomenal One and Reigns are going to keep feuding. Even though the ending of PPV was quite questionable, fans are happy to see that AJ Styles can still get his hands on the gold. This feud is far from over and has all the hype in the world. It is a pathway to many things, some of them being, The Bullet Club's formation in the company, who'll lead it? and who it will target?
