Monday Night RAW continues to be the flagship show of WWE, and with Paul Heyman as the executive director, we have seen a lot of positive changes of late.

In this article, we will take a look at 3 of the biggest backstage rumors that can have a direct effect on this week's episode of the Red brand.

With Survivor Series done and dusted, WWE will start their build towards the next PPV and hopefully, we will get to see the start of some new rivalries. However, there's some bad news in regards to 2 Superstars and more details on a top Superstar's new character:

#3 Brock Lesnar to be absent from the show

The Beast Incarnate had quite a showing at Survivor Series 2019 when he managed to decimate Rey Mysterio and retain the WWE Championship in a match that saw Mysterio's son get heavily involved.

Despite the combined effort of the father-son duo, Brock Lesnar was able to come out victorious at the show. However, after his win, the WWE Champion was not seen on RAW last week and backstage rumours suggest that fans should abandon hope of seeing him before January, around the time for Royal Rumble.

Here is what Dave Meltzer had to say on Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

Lesnar is back on hiatus until probably around January. His next show is the Rumble so he’ll be back when it comes to shoot his angle for that show.

As mentioned, it is highly unlikely that Lesnar will be part of RAW in any form. With Rey Mysterio as the US Champion, it is clear that the feud between Mysterio and Lesnar has come to an end. So the question arises, who will WWE build to take on the former Universal Champion at Royal Rumble?

#2 More details on Seth Rollins' 'heel turn'

The Beastslayer Seth Rollins was out slaying the confidence of the entire RAW locker room during the town hall meeting where he managed to disrespect the roster for losing the Survivor Series brand war.

The show teased a more heelish character for Rollins as opposed to the top babyface he has been portraying of late. Although Rollins has started whining and belittling others, it would not be accurate to call him a 100% heel as of now.

Here is what Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda had to say on the matter:

I’m not entirely sure it’s a full heel turn, anybody I’ve spoken to and asked about this has been quite clear that it’s complicated. That we may see Seth be a heel in one feud, and a face in another feud, much like Roman Reigns has been.
Like he was a heel against AJ Styles and then he was a face against Seth Rollins for a brief time and back after he beat Triple H at WrestleMania 32. So I wouldn’t call it a full-fledged heel turn but there are certainly a lot of heel elements and Seth himself is definitely playing up to it including with the way he has been challenging CM Punk.

#1 EC3 will not be returning anytime soon

Former 24/7 Champion EC3 has not been seen in action for a long time now, and unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will see him in the foreseeable future.

Dave Meltzer of WON has revealed that the reason behind EC3's absence is a concussion he suffered in September. EC3 was last seen on RAW in September in a match against Rusev, which saw the former Impact Wrestling World Champion get defeated by the Bulgarian Brute.

It is clear that the company does not have any major plans for EC3 as he has barely been utilised ever since being called up to the main roster from NXT. Many fans had hoped that Carter would be sent to NXT during this year's WWE Draft but instead, the company chose to keep EC3 on the RAW roster.

Carter has been very active on social media, expressing his displeasure at the way WWE has chosen to use him. We certainly hope that big things are in store for him when he returns; unfortunately, that return won't be this week.
