The RAW roster has a lot of wrestlers, but most of them are already involved in their respective storylines, and so it becomes difficult for them to jump ships and start a championship-oriented storyline. Kevin Owens is fighting Seth Rollins, Rusev and Bobby Lashley are involved in a fight and AJ Styles and Randy Orton are entangled in their own feud.
If you look through the current RAW roster, we cannot even put Aleister Black or Buddy Murphy in a match with The Beast Incarnate, and that leaves just one wrestler who is available and has been fighting local talents. Erick Rowan can be a great opponent for The Beast Incarnate because not only would he be a worthy challenger for the champion, it would also give him something worthwhile to fight for this year. He is a good talent and can ensure that even in a losing effort, he can be a valuable addition to the story.
