Ric Flair was released by WWE this week. Reports say that the reason for the split was because there were some creative differences between Flair and McMahon. As per Dave Meltzer of The Observer, Flair was not happy with the way his daughter Charlotte Flair had been booked as of late.

“He had sent a message, I think it was a text message, but he had sent a message to Vince McMahon, and it was basically complaining about Charlotte’s booking, her situation, and now he’s gone" said Meltzer.

Meltzer also said that despite rumors suggesting that it was Flair who decided to quit, his release was Vince McMahon's call.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported that WWE is worried that SummerSlam might get canceled due to the COVID-19 situation in the USA. The company is already looking for alternatives such as returning to the Performance Center or ThunderDome if that happens.

However, WrestleVotes has stated that things are going as per plan and the SummerSlam event is set to take place as initially planned.

SummerSlam is set to take place on August 21st 2021 and will be headlined by Roman Reigns vs John Cena for the Universal Championship.
