Sami Zayn has a new role on the main roster now and he is managing Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro. The WWE Universe has been abuzz about the reason for his lack of in-ring performances and now, Dave Meltzer has some backstage news.

The Wrestling Observer journalist reports that the former Intercontinental Champion is not injured and that it is just a creative decision. Speculation about his shoulder injury problems have been put to bed with that.

WWE have already medically cleared him as per the report and that means he could return as soon as the Creative have an interesting spot ready for him. Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue has already reported that there have been talks of him moving back to NXT as well.

Cesaro, on the other hand, is enjoying the opportunity of working with Sami. Talking about how they teamed up, he said: “Sami and Shin were doing a thing together. A thing where Sami was just going crazy during Shin’s entrances [laughs] everyone’s favorite GIF every week. And then Sami was like ‘Yeah, I’m trying to get you into the group’ and I’m like ‘Yeah, OK!’ I’ve moved to SmackDown again and there was no plan so I was like ‘Yeah, I’d love to, let’s do something!’”
