WWE Rumors: Backstage news on TJP's release
- His case is different to that of Dillinger and Itami!
What's the story?
Only a few hours ago, the news broke that Cruiserweight Classic Winner TJP had been released from the company. The other two names to be simultaneously released were Hideo Itami and Tye Dillinger.
While both Itami and Dillinger had asked for their releases, TJP had not. Thanks to PWInsider for first breaking this story.
In case you didn't know...
Tye Dillinger had asked for his release some time ago. He had even posted on his Instagram account about the same, to shoot down rumours about his departure.
In Hideo Itami's case, he too had asked for his release, presumably to return to his home country of Japan. In both their cases, their momentum had been derailed owing to injuries that they had suffered.
Unfortunately, TJP still wanted to remain a WWE superstar but was let go for reasons unknown (although speculation is rife).
The heart of the matter
This was the report posted by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who first broke the news:
For those asking, we are told by numerous WWE sources that TJP was released by the company. This was not a case where he asked for a release and was granted one, similar to Tye Dillinger or Hideo Itami, who's WWE exits were also announced today.
If so, then it's a real shame because TJP was the winner of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament and somehow, just fell down the ranks in 205 Live. In fact, the same report goes on to say how he had not won a single match since September.
TJP arrived in WWE from the independents and one can be certain that he'll find success in the circuit when he returns. In fact even more so, because of the whole WWE tag. We wish him all the best from Team Sportskeeda!
