The upcoming Survivor Series PPV is being built up around the brand wars between NXT, SmackDown, and RAW, and WWE is making sure most of the champions across the three brands are booked against each other for a one-night-only spectacle.

As reported by Dave Meltzer, the original plan was to have all the secondary champions to be featured in a Triple Threat match. AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Roderick Strong was the match that was previously reported, however, in an update revealed by Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it's being stated that either Nakamura or Styles could drop their title before the show.

Meltzer added that Daniel Bryan could defeat the King of Strong Style before Survivor Series to win the Intercontinental Championship. That would set up a mouthwatering clash between Bryan, Styles, and Strong for Survivor Series.

Of course, Meltzer clarified that the plan can always change in the coming weeks, however, with Bryan being involved in a storyline with Nakamura, the chances of an IC title change happening are quite high.

Meltzer wrote:

For Survivor Series, the plan was for a three secondary title match, Nakamura vs. Roderick Strong vs. Styles. I don’t know this is happening, and was only told the plan was that it wouldn’t be that exact match, meaning either Nakamura or Styles loses before that date.
Styles stuff has all been changed due to the NXT program he’s doing. But the most interesting aspect is that Bryan is doing a program with Nakamura, so there is a chance of a Strong vs. Bryan vs. Styles match if Nakamura was the change expected for that match.
If given time, that could be as good a main roster bout as there has been this year. Keep in mind that is reading something into it and when it comes to something like that, even if planned this week, that can change five times in the next week. But we do know that before the Styles program with NXT was put together, he was earmarked to be champion on 11/24.

Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura are involved in a program on SmackDown over the past few weeks, however, the Leader of the Yes Movement diverted from the feud to take on Adam Cole for the NXT Championship on the last episode of SmackDown.
