WWE Rumors: Original number one draft pick revealed

Beat them again

Seth Rollins’ opinion proved prophetic as he turned out to be the number one pick in the WWE Draft. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion beat out big names like Roman Reigns, John Cena, Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar to be the most coveted Superstar.

Speaking of Brock Lesnar, Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that he was supposed to be the number one draft pick after his victory at UFC 200 over Mark Hunt. The move would’ve sculpted further the image of Brock as the WWE’s marquee attraction – until the two failed drug tests.

Lesnar's stock took a huge hit after it was revealed that he tested positive twice for the same substance. An out-of-competition sample taken on June 28th and an in-competition sample examined on June 9th (the day of the fight) evinced the presence of Clomiphene, an estrogen blocker. Estrogen blockers are known to be used when athletes cycle off PEDs, to suppress estrogen levels.

Dave Meltzer said that Dean Ambrose was lined up to be the next pick for SmackDown, followed by Rollins for Raw and Cena for SmackDown. The fifteen-time WWE Champion wound up as the seventh overall pick, behind Roman Reigns in the queue and followed by Brock Lesnar.
