What's the story?
It seems like WWE Raw Superstar Nikki Cross is in for a big push.
Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio recently confirmed that the company has big plans for Cross moving forward.
In case you didn't know...
In the latest WWE NEWS, On an episode of Monday Night Raw in May, Nikki Cross appeared in a backstage segment with Alexa Bliss. Cross looked calmer than usual which hinted towards her getting a character change.
She went on to replace an injured Alexa Bliss in the Women's Money In The Bank Ladder match at the PPV, but failed to capture the briefcase. Soon after, Cross and Alexa teamed up with Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch to take on The IIconics and Lacey Evans, in a winning effort.
At WWE Stomping Grounds, Cross interfered in the SmackDown Live Women's Title match between Alexa Bliss and Bayley, resulting in a loss for Bliss.

The heart of the matter
As fans have seen over the past few weeks on WWE TV, Cross has been playing the part of a clueless babyface who trusts her friend, despite Bliss not being someone who should be trusted. The current plan for Cross is to turn her into a big babyface. After she turns, Cross will get into a feud with a heel Bliss.
Meltzer also noted that her role was meant for Bayley, but WWE ended up botching it. Now, they can't go back to giving the role to Bayley, as she has gone way past it at this point.
The storyline is that Nikki deserves [the title shot]. The whole thing is to make Nikki into a bigtime babyface. That’s the goal here [is for her] to feud with Alexa. Essentially, Nikki is in the role that Bayley should have been in that they completely botched.
What's next?
Alexa Bliss will challenge Bayley again for the Women's Title at Extreme Rules, and there's a chance we'll see Cross and Bliss's breakup angle kick off at the PPV.
