Over the past few weeks, almost all the rumours surrounding the WWE have in some manner been tied in with the brand split.
And this one’s no different.
Cagesideseats.com states that the King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura and NXT Women’s Champion, Asuka, are both scheduled to be at a WWE television taping later on this week. However, it does also state that should they wrestle, it would likely be in a dark match.
Nakamura has been on a hot streak since his debut victory over Sami Zayn at TakeOver: Dallas, beating Austin Aries and also Finn Balor, according to the NXT spoilers that were released a few days back.
Asuka won the NXT Women's Championship by defeating Bayley, and retained it at TakeOver: The End after seeing off the challenge of Nia Jax, both of whom are rumoured to be called up to the main roster in the near future.
Shinsuke Nakamura is expected to move on and challenge Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship after his feud with Balor attains completion. But this early introduction to WWE television tapings could mean that at least the possibility of moving the Japanese duo up into the main roster may have been floated.
