Does WWE have reason to be concerned over Paige’s future with the company? That is a question which has been brought up recently in light of the fact the former champion has been injured and rumors have started to swirl concerning the contract of her current boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio. There has also been speculation the report of her injury is a cover-up for other issues between the 24-yer-old and management.
According to wrestlezone.com, Paige is dealing with back and shoulder issues. The website is also reporting, via Dave Meltzer that “Paige is also dealing with “other issues” outside of her injuries, and some higher ups in WWE were concerned about her future in the company.”
There had been speculation that Paige’s injuries might not be real, and that they are a cover up for the “other issues” she is dealing with, but Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Paige’s current hiatus has nothing to do with any issues and that she is legitimately injured.
The fact still remains one of the ring leaders of the new movement in the women’s division within the company has been MIA in terms of the main event and has played the role of the supporting cast. Add to the fact Del Rio and WWE management (namely Triple H) are rumored to not be on the same page and there could be a connection between the two.

She is currently dating fellow WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio, but that relationship could be causing some backstage issues for both competitors. The couple was said to be upset with being drafted to different brands, which was revealed to be a decision WWE officials may have done purposefully. All of these issues may cause Del Rio to leave the company this fall, but Paige is expected to be sticking around for the next decade. Unfortunately, WWE officials are very concerned about her future in WWE.
Paige appears to be out of action for SummerSlam and after that, there is no word of when she might return to action. There is plenty of potential for success with the British superstar, whose goth-like character is a huge fan favorite. The fact she and Del Rio are on opposite brands as of now may have been a message to both wrestlers that the company was not pleased with their relationship going public and photos of the two at Disney World published on social media.
While there has also been talk about Paige in a program with Stephanie McMahon at some point down the line, there is still no concrete plan for her upon returning to action that has been made public yet.
