WWE SmackDown: 3 Botches and mistakes you missed this week (October 25th, 2019)

SmackDown Live presented their final episode ahead of Crown Jewel this coming Thursday night and as ever, it was another stacked two hours of entertainment. Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair opened the show as half of their teams stood face to face and then collided in the main event.

Brock Lesnar sent quite a brutal message to Cain Velasquez ahead of their WWE Championship showdown in Saudi Arabia, whilst The Firefly Fun House returned and showed Seth Rollins that a little bit of fire isn't enough to end The Fiend.

It was another interesting episode that contained several botches that the WWE Universe may or may not have picked up on.

#3 Ali gets dropped

It always seems to be Ali who is worse off after some of the botches that he's part of. At WrestleMania, he headbutted a table because of a Braun Strowman botch. He then went on to do the same thing in his match with Randy Orton a few weeks ago and last night on SmackDown, he was dropped by King Corbin as the two teams brawled ahead of Crown Jewel when Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan once again came face to face in a WWE ring.

Ali and Corbin looked as though they were going for a spot where he was thrown into the ringpost, but either Corbin tripped or his own momentum got the better of him since he tried to spin Ali and then suddenly dropped him. This obviously shocked Corbin since all he could do was watch Ali fall to the floor and then try and think of a way to save the spot without it looking obvious that he dropped him.

#2 Shorty G and King Corbin's connection

Shorty G and King Corbin collided with very different names in the final of the King of the Ring tournament the night after Clash of Champions and then continued their feud following Corbin's interesting victory.

Throughout their feud, the two men have become somewhat familiar with one another and how they operate in the ring, so there isn't any real excuse for botches between the two. That being said, last night Shorty G and Corbin were part of the six-man main event when Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro took on Ali, Shorty G and Roman Reigns, but it included a number of awkward moments.

Multi-person matches almost always contain a number of shaky moments given the number of people involved, but last night there was an exchange between Corbin and Shorty G which was much worse than all the rest.

The former Olympic wrestler threw a number of strikes at Corbin throughout the spot, but it doesn't look like any of these actually landed on target. King Corbin instead was forced to react as though they did.

#1 Sonya Deville misses her spot

Sonya Deville recently joined the cast of Total Divas and throughout this season, she has talked about being given opportunities by WWE before taking to social media and seemingly calling out every woman in the company begging for a fight.

Deville is a former MMZ fighter, but she still hasn't proven herself in a WWE ring and one of the main reasons why these opportunities are not coming her way is because she manages to botch the simplest of spots.

As part of SmackDown last night, Deville was at ringside for Mandy Rose's match against Nikki Cross and all Deville had to do was climb the ropes and get in Cross's way so that she could be kicked off.

It's made obvious from the video below that the spot didn't go to plan since Nikki was ready and looked to deliver the move, but Deville had missed her cue. This meant that Cross had to continue the match and then come back and deliver the kick a few seconds later, which made it obvious that one of the women had messed up.
