WWE SmackDown : 4 Possible finishes to The New Day vs The Revival

Which team will seal its place in the 'Champion vs Champion vs Champion' match at Survivor Series?
Which team will seal its place in the 'Champion vs Champion vs Champion' match at Survivor Series?

Big E and Kofi Kingston of The New Day conquered The Revival on the last episode of SmackDown to become seven-time WWE Tag Team Champions. WWE continued the trend of having last-minute title changes ahead of Survivor Series by swapping the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. However, this time around the former champs will get a chance to reclaim their titles before the inter-brand warfare on November 24th.

Given the way WWE booked The New Day to secure the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, it looked like the company wished to have a heel-face dynamic in the Tag Team Champions’ Survivor Series match. The other two pairs of tag team champs, The Viking Raiders (RAW) and The Undisputed Era (NXT) have a ton of momentum on their side and since both units portray heelish characters on TV, the crowd would not have been able to cheer for any team during the contest.

Now that WWE has announced another New Day vs Revival bout, fans can expect a huge twist in the story because there has never ever been a rematch for any last-minute title change before Survivor Series. So, here are the 4 potential ways this match could finish.

#4 The New Day retains

Kofi Kingston needs to stay at the top
Kofi Kingston needs to stay at the top

Starting with the most forthright conclusion, Big E and Kofi Kingston may simply pin Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson to end the feud and shift their focus towards Survivor Series. We have often observed how new champions beat the preceding championship holders just to put a full stop to their rivalry. Therefore, The New Day can once again crush their adversaries to strengthen their position at the top.

This triumph will boost their momentum heading into Survivor Series and likewise, keep the former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston at the top of the division. This could be the most feasible result of the bout.

#3 RAW invades SmackDown, title match ends in a disqualification

RAW had decimated SmackDown Live last year
RAW had decimated SmackDown Live last year

Given how WWE has built up this year’s Survivor Series, it is easy to overlook that the theme of the pay-per-view is ‘RAW vs SmackDown vs NXT’. So far, NXT has been the focal point of this storyline, but WWE will soon reignite the conflict between the two ancientest competitors, RAW and SmackDown.

The Red brand and the Blue brand have not crossed paths yet, but RAW can fire the initial shot by invading SmackDown. Since the SmackDown Tag Team Championships are on the line, this contest can main event the show and it would make sense to have the likes of The Viking Raiders, The Street Profits, The O.C. and others to thrash their Blue brand foes.

SmackDown's entire locker room would come out next and engage in a melee with the ‘A’ show’s Superstars. Ultimately, RAW should stand tall, so that SmackDown has a reason to come back all guns blazing on Monday night.

This raid will allow WWE to advance the rivalry between the two tag teams and add more spice to the approaching pay-per-view event.

#2 The Revival regains the championships, Big E shows signs of turning heel

The Top Guys!

Since The Revival dropped the championships to The New Day just a few nights ago, handing over the gold back to Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson would make little sense. However, WWE may have booked the victory just to assuage Kofi Kingston after his 9-second loss to Brock Lesnar. Creative may have finally worked out a separation angle for The New Day, as fans have been longing for a heel turn from any of the faction's three Superstars.

Kingston is a natural babyface, so WWE can book him to eat the pin and later Big E would angrily head backstage without uttering a word. This angle will keep fans hooked and this is the best time for Big E to turn because the SmackDown roster requires a top heel in the men’s division.

The Blue brand has only King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn and Luke Harper as heels. Therefore, The Revival could reclaim the championships this week to begin The New Day's breakup and kick start a drama oriented angle on SmackDown.

#1 The weapons come into play, sets up match at TLC

TLC is coming soon
TLC is coming soon

The final WWE pay-per-view of 2019, TLC : Tables, Ladders and Chairs, will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 15th, 2019. The event is just a month away and WWE will have only three weeks after Survivor Series to set up contests for the show. So, WWE Creative may try to set up a few feuds for the show before Survivor Series. As all four Superstars in the match have enormous experience in tag team wrestling, top officials should grant them the freedom to put on a classic bout.

After failing to keep Big E and Kofi Kingston down despite trying their best, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson could try to distract the referee and bring the weapons into the picture. However, the official would catch their heelish tactics and end the match in a disqualification.

As the bout would have ended, The Revival would try to inflict more damage to their opponents by using either tables or chairs. Ultimately, this would lead the fans to a stipulation-based match at TLC.

Creative knows that The New Day and The Revival are the Blue brand's premier tag teams and may not want to resolve the rivalry anytime soon.
