This week's edition of WWE SmackDown could be absolutely spectacular
This week's edition of WWE SmackDown could be absolutely spectacular

Even though Survivor Series seems like it happened a lifetime ago, do not forget that this week's edition of WWE SmackDown is the one after Survivor Series 2020. And so, while the WWE SmackDown vs. RAW storyline had been the main focus until now, it's time for things to pick up within the Blue Brand.

So, what are five surprises that could happen on the episode of WWE SmackDown after Survivor Series, you ask? Here are five things that could certainly shake up the WWE SmackDown product this week quite significantly.

As always, you're welcome to share your thoughts and views in the comments section below.

#5 WWE SmackDown stars Murphy and Aalyah get engaged live on air

Now that Seth Rollins has most likely been written off WWE SmackDown for a period of time, owing to the fact that he needs to be present with Becky Lynch as she prepares to give birth, where does WWE go with Murphy and Aalyah, you rightfully ask?!

There are rumors aplenty at this point that WWE may just go back to the well and rely on their favorite kind of storytelling- a wedding angle between the two. And once the wedding is set, there could be various kinds of twists and turns during the course of the storyline that takes the storyline in one direction or another.

So, on this week's edition of WWE SmackDown, could we see Murphy asking Aalyah to marry him, and her agreeing to his proposal?

Maybe it becomes the setup for Aalyah Mysterio's in-ring debut at some point down the line, perhaps in a mixed tag team match.

After their recent interaction, could we maybe see Billie Kay and King Corbin coming together as a team to take this couple down?

#4 Roman Reigns is confronted by Daniel Bryan on WWE SmackDown

There are so many WWE SmackDown babyfaces that could come gunning for Roman Reigns and his Universal Championship, from Kevin Owens, to Murphy to Jimmy Uso, if he's back at 100%. At the same time, it does seem likely that it will be Daniel Bryan who tangles with Roman Reigns next, for a multitude of reasons.

There is already a ready-made storyline between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan because of Jey Uso's clash with him from some time back.

Daniel Bryan is a unique sort of WWE Superstar as well. Even though he puts so many people over on a regular basis, he's just one of those WWE SmackDown stars who's been at the top, and even if he clashes against someone like Roman Reigns who's at the very top of his game at this point in time, there will be an element of doubt at all times about whether he can dethrone the Champ or not.

Could Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan kickstart on this week's show?

#3 Billie Kay joins forces with Natalya to form a WWE SmackDown tag team unit

A lot of us were upset when Billie Kay was split up from Peyton Royce, thinking that this would signal the end of her run in due course of time, but as a solo competitor on WWE SmackDown, Kay has proved that she has incredible comic timing and can be very entertaining on her own. At the same time, it doesn't seem like she's going to be a part of the crowded WWE SmackDown Women's Championship picture anytime soon because Carmella and Bayley are already in a feud with Sasha Banks.

We know that the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler are brand agnostic, meaning that they can also show up on WWE SmackDown once they're done feuding with Asuka and Lana, meaning that they could certainly show up on WWE SmackDown when the time is eventually right.

Could Billie Kay form a tag team with Natalya on WWE SmackDown, considering that they both love their comedy, with Billie Kay submitting her CV to Natalya?

#2 Bianca Belair teams up with Sasha Banks to chase off WWE SmackDown stars Bayley and Carmella

Sasha Banks has not one but two WWE SmackDown Superstars gunning for her, and they are Bayley and Carmella. If you know anything about these two, Bayley and Carmella are the best of friends in real life, and so they could certainly form some kind of heel alliance on WWE SmackDown. Sasha Banks may need some backup and it could come in the form of WWE SmackDown star Bianca Belair.

In fact, WWE made it a point to showcase that Bianca Belair had a formidable showing at Survivor Series, and she was the only WWE SmackDown female Superstar to do so.

In time, the money match may be one between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship, but for now, both of these babyfaces could be aligned on the very same page to eliminate the heels gunning for the title, as a unit. Maybe Bianca Belair wins the Royal Rumble and challenges Sasha Banks after that?

#1 Aleister Black steps up to face WWE SmackDown star Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship

Even though it has seemed like it will be Daniel Bryan vs. Sami Zayn for the WWE Intercontinental Championship after Survivor Series on WWE SmackDown, there have been reports that prove otherwise. So, could it be Aleister Black who steps up to face Sami Zayn in a series of fantastic contests?

Yes, Aleister Black is on the WWE SmackDown, in case you'd forgotten about him, and he's certainly one of those stars that could definitely branch out and become a big deal because of his gimmick, the way he wrestles, and the overall mystique that he carries about him.

In fact, if you've seen him wrestle in the past, you'd probably agree that there are very few other WWE Superstars like him that could not just hang with Sami Zayn but maybe even bring out the best in him.

Sami Zayn needs to clash with a WWE SmackDown Superstar like Aleister Black considering the way that he was booked at Survivor Series recently.
