Big E will return to SmackDown tonight!
Big E will return to SmackDown tonight!

After the conclusion of a mostly successful Money in the Bank PPV, WWE delivered the fallout episode of RAW last night with quite a few twists and major segments. It is now the turn of the blue brand to take the baton.

WWE has already announced some major segments for the with the biggest one of them being the return of Big E and a New Day Welcome Back celebration. From the looks of it, WWE might be planning some major twists on their last big show before All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing event later this week.

WWE is also advertising a Money in the Bank rematch for tonight with the Big Dog Roman Reigns facing Elias once more. It would be interesting to see where Roman's booking goes from here.

In this article, let's take a look at the 5 Surprising segments that can happen on SmackDown tonight.

#5 A new champion arrives with the 24/7 title on SmackDown

R-Truth won the 24/7 title on RAW last night and ran away in his car!
R-Truth won the 24/7 title on RAW last night and ran away in his car!

Last night on RAW, we saw WWE's greatest hardcore legend and a former RAW General Manager, Mick Foley announce WWE's newest title. The fans were hoping it to be the reintroduction of the Hardcore title and WWE in some way catered to that request, although not completely.

Mick Foley revealed the new "24/7 Title" on RAW last night which basically is a toned-down PG version of the Hardcore title. The rules for defending it are same as that of the Hardcore title as the champion can be pinned anywhere, anytime by anyone as long as a referee is present there.

Last night itself we saw 3 champions with Titus O'Neil winning it first only to lose it to Robert Roode a minute after. Later in the show, we saw R-Truth trick Roode and pin him to become the new 24/7 Champion. Truth then did a smart thing and ran away in his car to avoid any further title changes in the night.

Truth than revealed on Twitter that he will be bringing the title to SmackDown tonight. An interesting way to establish the unpredictable nature of this championship would be if Truth appears on SmackDown only to reveal that he lost the championship to someone overnight. Anyone like Rusev, Jinder Mahal, or Curtis Axel could be then revealed as the newest 24/7 champion.

#4 The Authors of Pain return

A much-needed boost for the SmackDown Tag division!
A much-needed boost for the SmackDown Tag division!

Akam, one half of the former NXT Tag Team Champions, Authors of Pain, was out of action with an injury in January, due to which his partner Rezar has also not featured on RAW for quite some time now.

According to the rumors, Akam is fully-fit now and the Authors of Pain are all set to make a return to WWE TV soon. With SmackDown being robbed of many Tag Teams recently, their return to the blue brand would definitely help solidify its tag division. Could they return with a bang and challenge the SmackDown Tag Champs, Daniel Bryan and Rowan?

#3 Triple H confronts Randy Orton

Some build-up for this match, please?
Some build-up for this match, please?

WWE has announced some huge matches for the Super ShowDown event next month. One of them is the Game, Triple H taking on his former teammate and rival, Randy Orton.

I did not like the way it was just announced on social media rather than having some storyline behind it. But all that could change with a confrontation between these two former Evolution members tonight on SmackDown. WWE has a habit of building major matches like these only on RAW and it would be nice to see this one shaping on the blue brand instead, especially with Randy being a part of the SmackDown roster.

#2 Brock Lesnar teases a cash-in

Eat! Sleep! Tease a cash-in! Repeat!

This is what might be the motto of the Beast Brock Lesnar after becoming Mr. Money in the Bank a couple of nights ago. He teased a major cash-in on both the champions in the main event of RAW and he could do the same tonight as well.

With SmackDown facing major rating issues in the last few weeks, an appearance from the Beast Incarnate might help get some attention to the blue brand.

#1 The New Day show signs of breaking up

All good things come to an end!
All good things come to an end!

The biggest segment announced for SmackDown tonight is the return of Big E to SmackDown and a New Day Welcome Back Celebration. After retaining his title against Kevin Owens at MITB, the WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston would be in a pretty good mood tonight.

With his brother returning from an injury, a great fun celebration is what would be on Kofi's mind. But what if his brothers are not as happy with the limelight that he is getting? While I don't expect to see New Day breaking tonight, a tease alone would be huge. Let me know in the comments section who you think would turn heel among Big E and Xavier Woods.

What are you looking forward to the most on tonight's show?
