WWE SmackDown Live Preview: 15 November, 2016

Get ready to have chills down your spine

The latest episode of Monday Night Raw gave WWE fans, a glimpse of what they can expect for Survivor Series. Goldberg and Brock Lesnar appeared under the same roof for the first time in years and, Team Raw and Team SmackDown drew battle lines with an all-out brawl.

The last major stop for WWE before Survivor Series will happen Tuesday night when they roll out SmackDown Live. There might not be a lot of unanswered questions after what happened on Raw, but the final step would be crucial, and the creative team of WWE would be aware of the same.

With that said, here are some of the segments that we could expect on SmackDown Live this week.

#5 Legends return

The return

Amidst the buildup to Survivor Series, WWE will be celebrating the 900th episode. The episode will witness the return of the legendary Undertaker, and it is perhaps the only reason people need, to tune into the show. WWE is also advertising former WWE champion Edge, for the event and it is bound to be a fun outing for everyone.

While these are the names that WWE is hyping, we could still see some surprise names on the show. If we take a look back at the legends who defined and influenced SmackDown, WWE should bring in names like Paul Heyman, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio and also think about paying tribute to Eddie Guerrero

Not all of this could happen, but one thing or the other needs to.

#4 Kalisto needs momentum

Needs to get things sorted out

Kalisto will challenge Brian Kendrick at Survivor Series for the Cruiserweight championship. WWE did a great job of booking Kendrick strongly on Raw and Kalisto needs a similar booking on SmackDown as well. As Kalisto was put into the title scene without a proper buildup, he is yet to project himself as a credible challenger.

At the same time, the lack of Cruiserweight wrestlers on SmackDown will be a big headache as WWE will have to give Kalisto a good outing on Tuesday night. Another option is that they could bring in someone from Raw, but this would expose that the whole angle has gaping plot holes.

#3 Miz or Ziggler?

Needs a promo and a match

Similar to the case with Kalisto, Dolph Ziggler also needs to come up with an answer to Sami Zayn. Zayn got a win over Bo Dallas this week on Raw, and it acts as a momentum builder for him. Ziggler, meanwhile, had been inactive in the ring last week and this is something that WWE needs to change this time.

A good part of this storyline progressed, with the help of Twitter this past week but then again, the fans should not be left wandering on Sunday night. The dots are to be connected and Ziggler should talk on the microphone to do this.

A match and a promo would be an ideal way to book Ziggler, as Zayn showing up on SmackDown would not work due to his babyface character. The champ will defend his title against Miz on SmackDown this week and though it is too late for a title change, we never know.

WWE also has the chance of making the Survivor Series match a triple threat if they come up with a false ending for Ziggler vs. The Miz this week.

#2 The mid card teams

Becky should be the focal point of the Women’s team

While the men’s battle between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live is the most important brand vs. brand showdown on Survivor Series, it doesn’t mean that the other matches are of no importance. Both the Women’s and Tag team match, have some exciting subplots to show off and the outcomes of these two bouts do have a lasting impact on the WWE.

On Raw, these were built up with matches involving the Raw team members, and something similar could be expected from SmackDown as well. However, if WWE wants to take matters more seriously, they could even bring in some Raw superstars to SmackDown to hype the undercard matches.

#1 Another Raw vs. SmackDown brawl?

Another brawl in the works?

The brawl that went down between Team SmackDown and Team Raw, proved to be the highlight of Monday Night Raw. It was good to see a glimpse of what the teams were going to do, on Sunday Night and the fact that WWE made them wear their brand colours, has clearly increased the hype.

If the brand split was not in place, such a brawl would have taken place only on Raw, as it was the weekly flagship show. However, now that SmackDown is live and almost as important as Monday Night Raw, WWE has to give a similar segment on Tuesday night as well.
