This week’s WWE SmackDown took place at Fort Wayne, Indiana. Josh Mathews was assisted by Michael Cole and Brad Maddox in commentary in the absence of JBL.
Match 1: Randy Orton and Sheamus defeated Team Rhodes Scholars in a tag-team match.
After the tag-team match, the Shield appeared on the titantron and challenged Orton and Sheamus to a match at WrestleMania 29. Orton and Sheamus agreed and were asked to find a third partner for the six-man tag match.

Big Show joins Orton and Sheamus backstage and made a pitch to be their teammate at Wrestlemania. Sheamus snubbed Big Show and introduced Ryback as the third member of their team against the Shield.
The Shield vs the team of Randy Orton, Sheamus & Ryback in a 6-man tag-team match at Wrestlemania 29 was confirmed.
Match 2: Layla and Kaitlyn defeated Tamina Snuka and Aksana in a Divas tag-team match.
The Funkadactyl’s Naomi and Cameron, who were watching this match backstage were confronted by the Bella twins. The twins launched a scathing attack on the funkadactyls, forcing the officials to intervene and restore calm.
Match 3: Dolph Ziggler beat Kane in a singles match via pinfall. AJ and Big E Langston provided more than enough distractions to cost Kane the match. Post match, Big E attacked Kane.
A new video featuring Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez as Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter was aired. Chris Jericho and R-Truth had a good laugh watching it and were greeted by Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter in person. Swagger accused that Jericho is no different from Alberto Del Rio.
Fandango once again refused to get physical in a match against the Great Khali. Fandango tried to teach Khali to pronounce his name right. However, Khali made a mockery of it and as usual Fandango was offended by it.
The Shield viciously attacked Randy Orton and Sheamus who were giving an interview to Matt Striker backstage.
Match 4: Mark Henry vs Ryback ended in a no contest as the Shield interfered as soon as the match started. They attacked Ryback with the triple power bomb and left. Then Mark Henry hit three World’s Strongest Slam’s on Ryback before exiting the ring.

Match 5: Jack Swagger defeated Chris Jericho via pinfall in the main event of the show. A long and gruelling contest came to an end after Swagger executed the gut-wrench power bomb on Jericho to get the victory.
