This year’s WWE SummerSlam will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 21st. This is the first official PPV after the brand-split (WWE Battleground had superstars from both Raw and SmackDown Live taking on each other).
WWE champion Dean Ambrose will face Dolph Ziggler for the title, which is on SmackDown Live. Last week on Raw, it was announced that there will be a WWE universal championship for the brand and Seth Rollins will face Finn Balor for that title.
Sasha Banks, who defeated Charlotte to win the women’s title on the first episode of Raw in the new era, will have a rematch for her Championship at SummerSlam. After beating Mark Hunt at UFC 200, Brock Lesnar will take on the viper Randy Orton while John Cena will face AJ styles.
With just a day to go for the PPV, three new matches were scheduled in the kickoff pre-show. The match between Cesaro and Sheamus, which was made official on Raw, was pushed to the kick-off while two tag team matches have also been scheduled to take place before the PPV gets underway.
