WWE SummerSlam 2019: 5 Superstars that are not scheduled to compete at the PPV

#2 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman won't be in action at SummerSlam.

Many fans are appalled at the perplexing booking of Braun Strowman. About a month ago, rumors were circulating of how high Paul Heyman was on Strowman and that the 'Monster Among Men' was in line for a monster push. His recent booking, however, has been bizarre, to say the least, and has many fans anxious and nervous.

After wrapping up his feud with Bobby Lashley, Strowman has been treading water. He defeated a local jobber at Raw Reunion, then had a strange run-in with Maria Kanellis the following week and was absent from Raw this week. Strowman has no worthwhile storyline going on for him at the moment, which is why he has been sparingly used since Extreme Rules.

'The Monster Among Men' needs to pick up some steam and pull up his socks. He is an immensely talented powerhouse and has every right to compete in WWE's biggest stages, including SummerSlam.

#1 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is one of WWE's top stars.

Of all the names mentioned on this list, Roman Reigns' exclusion is the most surprising. The Big Dog has long been considered WWE's golden boy and one of the company's top stars that move the needle. Hence, the fact that Reigns probably won't be in action at SummerSlam has raised loads of eyebrows.

Over the past few weeks, Reigns has been involved in near-fatal incidents backstage. A scaffolding and boxes fell on him and a car almost hit him. The Big Dog has experienced many hardships backstage. This past week on SmackDown Live, Reigns got some answers. Buddy Murphy claimed that it was Rowan who was behind the heinous scaffolding incident.

Recent reports suggest that Reigns and Daniel Bryan are expected to feud post-SummerSlam. Many expected the two to collide at SummerSlam, but Dave Meltzer's report suggests otherwise.

I can't imagine Reigns not being a part of SummerSlam. He will surely be involved in some angle that will further his current storyline, however, he probably won't be in in-ring action at the event.
