Roman Reigns heading into SummerSlam 2021 as the Universal Champion and main-eventing the show is a very likely possibility. He is the Head of the Table, and by the time SummerSlam 2021 comes around, if he is still the Universal Champion, his current reign would be almost a year long.
Another possible contender other than Seth Rollins who could challenge him for his title in the main event of SummerSlam 2021 is Big E. The New Day member has received a massive singles push on SmackDown since getting separated from the faction last year.
He also won the Intercontinental Championship and had an impressive run with it before Apollo Crews defeated him at WrestleMania 37.
Initially, there were speculations that Big E could be the one to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37. While that didn't happen, WWE might just book this match for SummerSlam 2021.
