WWE Super ShowDown: 4 Biggest Shockers we could see - Return of a legend, Title change

What twists amd turns await at Super ShowDown?
What twists amd turns await at Super ShowDown?

The stage is set for Super ShowDown and we are just twenty four hours away from the pay-per-view. The excitement skyrocketed after stupendous episodes of RAW and SmackDown Live this week. The red brand offered some impressive segments before heading to Saudi Arabia, while the blue brand was not far away.

A total of ten matches are set to take place at Super ShowDown. The card is stacked with some gigantic names. There will be a fifty-man Battle Royal match as we saw at Greatest Royal Rumble last year. Braun Strowman will take on Bobby Lashley, while Finn Balor will defend the Intercontinental Title against Andrade. The Usos will fight The Revival in a Tag Team match.

Lars Sullivan will be aiming to continue his destruction in a 3-on-1 Handicap match against the Lucha House. In fact, it will be the debut match of the Freak on the main roster. Triple H will tussle with Randy Orton, and Roman Reigns will lock horns with Shane McMahon.

The WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will defend the belt against Dolph Ziggler. Seth Rollins will defend the most coveted prize of the red brand against Baron Corbin. The Undertaker and Goldberg will square off for the first time in Jeddah.

We are expected to see a great show in Saudi Arabia. Since there are some blockbuster matches on the card, we could see some unforeseen surprises. Here we discuss four shockers we could see at Super ShowDown.

#4 Samoa Joe could be asked to defend the US Title in the fifty-man Battle Royal match

Samoa Joe

The US Championship storyline has been exciting in the last few months. Samoa Joe has been a dominating Champion as he squashed Rey Mysterio at the Grandest Stage of Them All. The two men renewed the feud and locked horns at Money in the Bank where Mysterio won the belt. Unfortunately, the former WWE Champion suffered an injury and he had to relinquish to the title to Joe this week.

Joe didn't toil hard to win it back after losing the belt to Mysterio. Hence, WWE might put the current Champion in a tricky situation to prove that he is a deserving champion. A fifty-man Battle Royal match will be held at Super ShowDown. Though the number is bigger than the usual Royal Rumble match, the winner will not gain anything.

Hence, we could see a twist. Since Joe is not scheduled to defend the US Title in Jeddah, he could be asked to put the title on the line in the fifty-man Battle Royal match.

#3 AJ Styles could cost Baron Corbin the Universal Title match

Baron Corbin is scheduled to face Seth Rollins for the most coveted prize of the red brand. Corbin earned the right to become the number one contender of Seth Rollins last week. Corbin defeated The Miz, Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley in a Fatal 4-Way match. Corbin sent a big statement this week when he delivered an End of Days to Rollins, and the Beastslayer was subsequently assaulted by Brock Lesnar.

In all honesty, not many people are excited about a match between Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin. Seth Rollins is arguably one of the best in-ring performers of Vince McMahon's company, while Corbin is an ordinary performer. As a result, it is likely to be a substandard match.

Though Corbin is set to face Rollins, a new rivalry began a couple of weeks ago. Styles slapped Corbin during an interview on RAW and the latter launched a vicious attack on the former in the backstage area last week. Therefore, it will not be surprising if the Phenomenal One decides to take revenge of the attack in Jeddah. Styles could cost Corbin his Universal Title match and the two men could start a new rivalry after Super ShowDown.

#2 Brock Lesnar could go for the WWE Title

Although Brock Lesnar is advertised for Super ShowDown, he doesn't have a match. Brock Lesnar took WWE by storm after winning the Money in the Bank briefcase. As a matter of fact, he has been highly entertaining with the new gimmick. It will be interesting to see if Lesnar actually cashes in the briefcase in Jeddah.

The Beast Incarnate was supposed to cash in the Money in the Bank contract on RAW this week. Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman announced on social media that Lesnar would be cashing in the briefcase on Seth Rollins this week. Interestingly, it didn't happen but Lesnar wrecked Rollins in the squared circle. The Beast hit a low blow followed by some chair shots. Furthermore, Rollins also received some German Suplexes and a vicious F5 on the floor.

Heyman was shouting to cash in the contract on helpless Rollins but Lesnar kept telling 'Friday' as Super ShowDown is set to take place on Friday this week. Considering Lesnar will be in the arena, he is expected to cash in the contract but we might see a major surprise.

Money in the Bank briefcase allows the holder to cash in the contract on either of the two World Champions. Considering Lesnar also confronted Kofi Kingston after winning the briefcase, he might target the WWE Champion. Lesnar has been in the Universal Title picture for over two years and it will be refreshing to see him as WWE Champion. Moreover, Lesnar's addition could be a titanic boost for the blue brand as it will move to Fox in October.

#1 Kane could help Undertaker defeat Goldberg

It should be money

We are just a few hours from witnessing the dream match between Goldberg and Undertaker. The two men hyped the feud this week when they had a face-off on SmackDown Live. Undertaker appeared on RAW and sent a message to his Super ShowDown opponent. Goldberg, on the other hand, made his SmackDown Live debut this week where he promised to bring the aggressive side of himself in Jeddah. Surprisingly, Undertaker's music hit and the two legends had a face-off.

Although the bout should have taken place years ago, the two Superstars are still competent to offer a good show. The face-off on the blue brand was the talking point of this week. Both Undertaker and Goldberg held two famous winning streaks of professional wrestling and it will be interesting to see who picks a victory in Saudi Arabia.

Undertaker's last match was at Crown Jewel where he teamed up with Kane. Moreover, the Big Red Machine has a history with Goldberg and Kane's involvement cannot be ruled out. Hence, Kane might make a return to help Undertaker and the Phenom could manage to defeat Goldberg in Saudi Arabia.

There is no denying that a clean loss could hurt the legacies of the two iconic Superstars. The company could also extend the feud until Summerslam if Kane assists his brother.
