WWE Survivor Series 2017 Match Card Preview

Survivor Series is almost upon us and honestly, I'm as excited for this pay-per-view as any I've been for this year.

Apart from featuring a number of great matches, the storylines that will culminate in one explosive night in Houston have also not disappointed in the lead-up to the event.

The under-siege angle is dramatically poised on a crescendo, what with Raw obliterating SmackDown Live this past Tuesday, the Champion vs Champion matches practically sell themselves and the two most dominant factions in recent WWE history battle it out.

Honestly, there's very little not to like, even if you're the most hardcore critic of the WWE.

As we wait for Sunday (Monday, in India) to swing by, here is our preview of Survivor Series 2017.

Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles

Two of the biggest attractions in the WWE today clash

I don't know about you, but I honestly was zoning out at the prospect of watching Jinder Mahal compete against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.

Thankfully, AJ Styles intervened and all of a sudden, the interest for this match amped up exponentially.

From a non-event ( in the sense that we all knew that Brock Lesnar would crush Jinder Mahal), it has gone on to assume 'dream match' levels of importance just like that.

And despite crushing each and every one in his path till now, Brock Lesnar has to reckon with the unique challenge that he will encounter at Survivor Series.

As for AJ Styles, I think it's safe to say that the bigger the occasion, the better he performs.

And it doesn't come much bigger than Brock Lesnar.

Traditional Survivor Series 5 on 5 Men's Elimination match

Anything can happen in this volatile encounter!

With Triple H entering the fray at the last minute, at the expense of Jason Jordan, the whole complexion of the match has been altered.

You would think it's advantage Team Raw at this point...but is there more to it than meets the eye?

After all, Kurt Angle can't be happy with the way Triple H booted his son out of the team and included himself in it, strengthening the team on one hand but weakening Angle's position as the Captain on the other.

Will the cracks of dissension between the team captain and the COO begin to show, costing Raw in the match?

Because whatever else they may be, Team SmackDown Live seem to be united under Shane McMahon's leadership.

And after the feral attack by Raw on Tuesday, they will be itching for some revenge.

Which brand will take bragging rights for the Women's Revolution?

Facing the likes of the indomitable Asuka and Nia Jax is a scary enough scenario with the experience and skill of Charlotte Flair on your side.

But now that she's become the SmackDown Live Women's Champion after defeating Natalya, and will go on to face her Raw counterpart Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series, it seems like Captain Becky has a problem on her hands.

Will she be able to galvanise her troops and get them battle ready to withstand the offence that Team Raw will bring?

Or will Alicia Fox, the erratic one, sabotage herself and her team in the process, making life easy for Team Blue?

And how will SmackDown Live be served by the mystery Superstar that will only join up with her teammates on the day of Survivor Series?

Better a devil that you know than an angel you don't, right?

Charlotte Flair vs Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss will face the toughest test of her career against Charlotte Flair!

Charlotte Flair was reunited with Championship gold in her hometown, with her emotional father standing by to witness this past week on SmackDown Live.

But coming off such a seminal moment can have two effects.

It can either spur Charlotte on to outdo herself or it can distract from the fact that she's got to face a very savvy opponent in Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series.

There are few sights in WWE as breath-taking as when Charlotte Flair is in full flow. But if she hasn't got her game face on and even misses a step, you can be sure that Alexa Bliss will be on hand to pounce.

Both Superstars deserve to be the Women Champions of their respective brands. But who the undisputed face of the Women's Revolution will be decided at Survivor Series.

The Miz vs Baron Corbin

If Miz says that the IC Title is the most prestigious strap in the WWE...this is his chance to prove it!

The most Must-see WWE Superstar today and the Lone Wolf clearly think very little of each other, as evinced by the scathing promos that they trade on social media.

Bad blood between two men is not uncommon. But the risk lies in either man letting his emotions towards the other get the better of him.

Will Corbin manage to stay cool under pressure and see off the challenge of the Intercontinental Champion?

Or will the Miz, conniving as ever, use his ring smarts to find a way to outdo his opponent without letting his dislike of Corbin cloud his vision?

Both men's ego is at stake here. And by the looks of it, the legitimacy of the US and the Intercontinental Championship too.

You can be sure of one thing though. Despite involving Baron Corbin...this match is anything but a toilet break.

Shield vs New Day

The Big Dog and Big "but not tall" E will lead their respective teams to battle

The return of Roman Reigns to active competition turned the tide in favour of Raw as the Big Dog led his brand's charge this past Tuesday on SmackDown Live.

But before the Shield could reunite and spearhead Raw's counterattack on SmackDown Live, it was the New Day that had seized the initiative and sparked the hostilities between the two brands.

In short, the two most dominant factions in recent WWE history took it upon themselves to make a statement of intent that their brand was the superior one.

So when they finally clash in a dream match at Survivor Series, expect fireworks, an all-out war and an instant classic that people will remember defined their legacies.
