WWE Survivor Series 2018: 5 Potential Finishes For Daniel Bryan vs Brock Lesnar

The dream match has come to be
The dream match has come to be

The go-home show to SmackDown Live saw the landscape of Survivor Series change completely. Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles got into a heated brawl in the opening segment that saw Styles demand to defend his title against Bryan (which Shane accepted out of desperation to stop the brawl).

The match saw a shocking turn of events as Daniel Bryan hit Styles with a low blow while the referee was down. He used the momentary distraction to hit the running knee and pin Styles for the title. After the match, he assaulted Styles, cementing his heel turn.

The match that many dreamed of, i.e, Bryan vs Lesnar has now come to be. It's official for Survivor Series in a Champion vs Champion match. Bryan may be the underdog but he's certainly not going to have the fans on his side this time around. Here's how the match could finish.

#5 Daniel Bryan hits Lesnar with a low-blow to cheat and win

A shocking turn from Bryan
A shocking turn from Bryan

As we saw on SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan hit a low-blow to Styles out of nowhere. Bryan knows that he's far from the favorite against Lesnar and will be looking to find any possible means to beat The Beast Incarnate.

One way to go about it is to do the exact same thing. Manipulate the referee into getting distracted and then hit a low blow. However, it's going to take more than one running knee to put Lesnar away. Roman Reigns is the only superstar who has ever kicked out of the running knee but he is, Roman Reigns after all.

It's going to be interesting to see how fans react to Bryan facing Lesnar. Will they cheer him if he uses the same dirty tactics to win?

#4 Brock Lesnar wins clean

Universal Champion Brock Lesnar wants to send The Phenomenal One to Suplex City.

We should remember that Bryan is facing Brock Lesnar. The man who just came off a 500+ day reign as Universal Champion, only to win it for the second time. One of the main reasons the change may have happened was to protect Styles from a second loss to Brock Lesnar.

It all depends on what Brock Lesnar we're going to see. If we see a motivated Lesnar, then it'll be a fun match. But it seems like he's still far more likely to win.

Bear with us for a second. As great as Bryan is, the truth is that the chances of this are the least in the entire list. As we mentioned, WWE clearly wants to protect AJ Styles and they've done a great job in doing so.

However, there is a remote possibility that Daniel Bryan, receiving a major push and winning the WWE Champion will lead to WWE protecting him a bit more. It may be a one-sided match but that doesn't mean that Bryan can't win clean.

#2 Braun Strowman costs Brock Lesnar

... Strowman takes a seat in the middle of the ring and demands that Raw GM Baron Corbin comes to the squared circle.

Braun Strowman on RAW made a deal with Stephanie McMahon, saying that if Team RAW won, he would get a Universal title shot against Brock Lesnar (and also got his request granted for a match with Baron Corbin after Survivor Series).

Strowman has vengeance on his mind and his second failure against Brock Lesnar was a result of Corbin's pre-match attack. There's a very high chance that Strowman comes out and costs Brock Lesnar the match against Daniel Bryan.

It'll be really interesting because it'll once again heat up the Strowman-Lesnar feud and this time around, Strowman could actually win. It's going to be really interesting to see what the fallout of that would be.

But it does make a lot of sense since it'll also protect Lesnar in defeat. Lesnar lost only 3 months ago but it seems like he's already long overdue for another loss and who better to hand it to him than Daniel Bryan?

#1 AJ Styles costs Daniel Bryan

=

AJ Styles was cheated out of his WWE title after being hit with a low blow when the referee was down. A historic 371-day title reign (which saw him become the longest reigning WWE Champion in SmackDown history) ended in a surprising way.

AJ Styles' dream rematch with Brock Lesnar is now canceled and he's been pulled from the Survivor Series card altogether. With his spot and coveted WWE Championship gone, he's going to be back with a vengeance.

He may have lost to Lesnar last year, but that was clean. He'll be more keen to cost Bryan and infuriate him over losing to Lesnar. Whatever happens, one thing is for sure, the WWE title feud post-Survivor Series is going to be hot and will single-handedly make SmackDown Live more exciting than RAW. This was quite an unexpected direction to take and it'll be one that's talked about for years to come.
