Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis: 31 May, 2015

The WWE rumor mill saw some big fodder this week. Elimination Chamber and the road after it was the main talking points as you would have guessed already and compared to last week, almost all the rumors that came out of this week had some major implications. The materializing of them could give WWE a positive boost to say the least.

Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns and the one and only Brock Lesnar featured in the top speculations while there were some talk on the injury of Rusev and a superstar who benefited from it. So without further introduction, here is a look at the top five rumors of this week and their analysis.

Good news for Brock Lesnar fans

Some one is going to get bloodied in June

If you are a Brock Lesnar fan, then brace yourselves for some good news. Earlier, Lesnar was expected to make his return just before SummerSlam so that he could work the major pay-per-view. Things however have changed for the better and Lesnar is expected to return to WWE television in June.

He is supposed to stick around for the whole of June and all the way to SummerSlam. This includes working in the Battleground pay-per-view. The opponent for Lesnar at Battleground is still not confirmed but WWE is likely to go ahead with a probable number one contenders match with Randy Orton, Roman Reigns or even Dean Ambrose being the opponent of Lesnar.

Big replacement in Elimination Chamber

First major title for Bray?

Rusev’s injury made it to the headlines this week and it came at the worst possible time for the Bulgarian Brute. He was just making the transition to life without Lana and before he could pull it off, he got sidelined. Rusev is almost sure to miss Elimination Chamber after the injury and WWE will have to come up with a replacement for the former US champion.

The favorite for the same is Bray Wyatt. The Eater of the worlds is not booked for any match at the Elimination Chamber now and seeing him inside the Elimination Chamber would be a great idea. Bray winning the title will be even better but the chances of this are pretty low.

Kevin Owens to move to Main Roster permanently

Things just got real

One of the major rumors that broke out during the week was the new contract of Kevin Owens. The NXT champion apparently signed a new main roster deal with WWE and is expected to stay around the main television shows even after Elimination Chamber.

As part of this, Owens will also be seen working in house shows that WWE puts together. WWE is also teasing a big surprise at Elimination Chamber and if we add both the rumors together, then there is a chance of Owens winning the United States Championship from John Cena at the pay-per-view. He however has a score to settle in NXT, speaking of which brings us to our next major rumor.

Samoa Joe to be NXT Champion

NXT needs a new king and Joe is here

Following up with the major Kevin Owens news, this one is bound to happen. Owens will be busy on the main roster with his new contract and stuff but is likely to stay around NXT for some time. WWE wants him to make a smooth transition from NXT to the main roster and this includes dropping the NXT championship credibly.

Samoa Joe is the name considered to win the title from Owens and WWE can do it two ways. Either they can force Owens to forfeit the title once he reached main roster just like they did it with Paige. This would keep him protected as well. On the other hand, they could let Samoa Joe defeat him.

Roman Reigns might join Authority

Authority Reigns

If you thought that Roman Reigns was going to sit out of Elimination Chamber without doing something impactful, think again. There are rumors in the internet about a possible Heel turn from Roman Reigns as the fans are not treating him well as a baby face.

And instead of just being a simple heel turn, WWE is going to take things a step higher by making Reigns join the Authority. Yes, you heard that right, Reigns in the Authority. The idea is to let Reigns have a heel run alongside Stephanie McMahon and Triple H for some time before turning him face just like they did it with Batista and Randy Orton. How they are planning to do this at Elimination Chamber however, is still a mystery.
