WWE WrestleMania 33 News: Goldberg promises a 'blood fest' at WrestleMania.

Goldberg promises to draw blood at WrestleMania

What’s The Story?

Goldberg appeared on the debut of Edge and Christian’s new podcast, ‘Edge and Christian’s Pod of Awesomeness’, and went on to promise a knockdown, drag-out bloodfest in his Wrestlemania trilogy match against Brock Lesnar. He alluded to the fact that he and Lesnar weren’t allowed to do much in their previous pair of encounters to generate more interest in their trilogy bout.

The WWE Universal champion also alluded to the fact that his WrestleMania match against The Beast won’t be a blink-and-miss affair like their Survivor Series face-off.

In Case You Didn’t Know...

Bill Goldberg (real name- William Scott Goldberg) is a former WCW and WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and he is the current WWE Universal champion. At the peak of his run in WCW, he gained global notoriety owing to his otherworldly athleticism and explosive style of wrestling.

The Heart Of The Matter:

As reported by PWInsider, the Edge and Christian Pod of Awesomeness, saw Goldberg speak on a broad range of topics including his upcoming WrestleMania matchup against Brock Lesnar, his relationship with Vince McMahon and how taxing his current stint has been owing to all the roadwork and training combined with balancing his work and family.

Although he was quite self-deprecating in the interview, he vowed to make his Mania match against ‘The Beast Incarnate’ a long, drawn-out war; stating that he and Lesnar are both going to do things that go beyond the limits of their earlier encounters.

What’s Next?

Goldberg defends his WWE Universal championship against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33 on April 2nd at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Author’s Take:

The man himself has promised a bloodbath at Mania, but you know what they say- ‘Once bitten, twice shy’. No disrespect to the legend, but Goldberg has not looked anything close to the physical specimen who held a prime Big Show in the air for a jackhammer.

In fact, Goldberg admitted to facing difficulties training. Put two and two together, and it’s safe to assume that Goldberg vs. Lesnar III will most probably be a relatively short match again!

Nevertheless, the 10-year-old Monday Night Wars fan in me forces me to believe him and still wants to see a long, epic war between him and Lesnar at WrestleMania. That WCW/WWF nostalgia is tough to get rid of!
