WWE 2K15 leaked roster list is a hoax

On 29th July, a list was leaked online that got quite a lot of people excited. It was the leaked roster list of the upcoming game; WWE 2K15. And now it’s been said by 2K officials that the list is nothing but a hoax. The list was leaked even before the official roster list came through. Even when it came out, the leaked list was difficult to believe as it included names like CM Punk, older legends like Buddy Rogers and Stan Stasiak. However, it has now been confirmed that the list is false.

The leak surprised many fans for it did not mention legends like Justin Gabriel and Ryback and divas like Paige and Emma. Furthermore the inclusion of older legends like Buddy Rogers only raised more doubt of its authenticity as that today's WWE 2K players would probably not know them and so, 2K Sports too might not take up the trouble of including them if no one wants to play them.

Apparently, the roster was leaked through an upcoming issue of Game Informer magazine. Jared Rea, community manager at WWE 2K15, confirmed that the list was false when he replied to a post on the official 2K forums. His reply was a gif image of Dean Ambrose saying "Nope" to the question if the leaked roster was real. The official roster will be revealed on 16 August at the SummerSlam event hosted by WWE legend, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

We know of some names being confirmed through personal posts by wrestlers themselves. Earlier, 2K Sports had also revealed that Sting will be a pre-order bonus for players and about the Hulk Hogan Special Edition in the game. It also partly revealed the game's Story and MyCareer Mode. It also revealed its first screenshot from the game of John Cena inside the ring. John Cena will also star on the cover of the game.

Well the speculations never end and people still can’t wait till the official release during SummerSlam. There are many trying to guess the list out and some have proven more right than false. An old video posted by YouTube user, The 101 had featured some rumored names that might turn out to be in the original roster and since then two of the names he predicted are already in the confirmed list. Is he going to be right again?

Xavier Woods

Goldust

Alexander Rusev

New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn & Road Dogg)

Los Matadors (With El Torito)

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey)
