WWEs very own superman John Cena is set to take his rivalry with Bray Wyatt to a whole new level as the duo are squaring up against one another in a last man standing match at Payback.Let us take a look at Cenas track record in his earlier Last man standing bouts.

#1 Cena - Umaga

It was the 2007 Royal Rumble. The event can always be remembered for the Undertaker’s memorable rumble win. Another standout event or fixture from this PPV was John Cena’s epic last man standing match against Umaga.

Cena, who generally has had a ‘Mr Clean’ image in the WWE was taken to the limits in this match. He was made to profusely bleed by Umaga and the match had all the makings of a hardcore classic. All tools in and around the ring, including the dreaded steel steps were subject to heavy usage. The bout ended with Cena using the ring ropes to choke out Umaga and secure a hard fought win.

#2 Cena - Edge

The two of them have shared a rivalry like no other pair. They were the top face and heel combo during their times and always put up a show. They were all set to put together another hardcore classic and this one was certainly one for the ages.

Cena and Edge squared off in a last man standing match at the 2009 Backlash. The match was contested in all parts of the arena. Cena delivered an attitude adjustment to Edge right into the crowd and Edge repaid the favor with some hard shots with the steel chair. All was well until Big Show abruptly interfered and chokeslammed Cena into the spotlight to give Edge the win.

The interference of the giant marred what was going to be a memorable climax.

#3 Cena - Batista

When you have a last man standing match scheduled at Extreme rules, you know you’re in for a hardcore treat.

This feud centered around how Batista was upset with Cena being the face of the WWE. He wanted to earn the position and hence challenged Cena to vie for the top dog status. The match will always be remembred for how it ended. Cena duct taped Batista the ring post thus disabling the animal to get to his feet. Before this clever move, the match witnessed some hard hitting and bodies clashing against the steel scenarios.

All in all, Cena outwitted Batista in one of the most memorable encounters in WWE history.

#4 Cena - Alberto Del Rio

WWE Vengeance it was. Alberto Del Rio was the hot new heel in the WWE and he was pitted against the perennial face, ie John Cena.

The match looked exciting even before it began. Mark Henry and Big Show dismantled the ring in their battle of the heavyweights and both Cena and Del Rio were left with a collapsed ring to battle with. But this did not deter what turned out be a cult classic. Cena proved to the world why he is the best around with some impressive offensive. The match headed near the entrance ramp as both superstars looked worn out. Out of nowhere came Miz and R Truth who took turns attacking Cena and helped Del Rio win the bout.

It was a shambolic climax to what seemed like an epic match.

#5 Cena - Ryback

Bouts between John Cena and Ryback was the highlight of the year 2013. The powerful Ryback mauled anything that was pitted against him and gathered a lot of momentum heading into this match. Cena, on the other hand was all set to compete in his fifth last man standing match.

Extreme Rules 2013 it was and the PPV was heading for a colossal main event. Cena had to overcome the odds to outmuscle Ryback and that is exactly what he did. After utilizing props around the ring, both superstars took their offence to the entrance ramp. It was there that the fans witnessed something amusing. Ryback picked up Cena and charged through the lights at the entrance ramp and both superstars collapsed. None of them were able to make it to their feet by the ten count and the match ended in a no contest.

Cena’s record at last man standing matches after this match stood at 2 wins 2 losses and a no contest.
