Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week and Analysis: August 24, 2014

Rumors mills were stronger than ever in the week that followed WWE SummerSlam and as one pay-per-view concluded, the internet found another one to speculate about. There were a lot of speculations circulating about how the WWE would book Night of Champion after an excellent outing at the Staples Centre. The stock of the companys latest NXT prospects was big news which found the limelight as names like Kevin Steen, Prince Devitt and Kenta is already making waves in the company even before their in ring debuts in development. Some potential big returns and absences were also in the speculation bag as usual and here is a pick of the best five rumors from the lot as usual.

#5 Triple H doesnt want Kurt Angle in WWE

Kurt Angle wanting to make his return to WWE was the top rumor last week. His deal with TNA was running out but WWE didn’t have a lot of interest in signing the superstars due to the physical troubles he’s had in his career.

And the latest rumor suggest that it is not the physical condition that holds Angle from making a return, it is Triple H.

Angle apparently contacted Triple H for a return but the Game refused the offer. The Olympian then went to Vince McMahon talk the matter only to receive confirmation from the boss that Triple H is in charge of talent relations.

There is a lot of friction going on between Hunter and Angle at this moment and as it grows further, the chances of seeing Angle grows smaller.

#4 AJ wants out

From the moment that CM Punk married AJ Lee, there were rumors about the former Divas Champion walking out on the company to have a dedicated family life.

However, she had a contract to honor and AJ returned to action in order to run a promising angle with Paige. Jim Ross feels that the AJ might be around for the time being but is trying to find her way out of the company.

Considering how Paige and AJ are booked, this might well be right since the WWE is trying to build Paige as the top diva in the company.

AJ is expected to be out of the company in one year’s time and hopefully this would end up just as a rumor since there isn’t a replacement for her in the roster right now.

#3 Dean Ambrose to take time off till Hell in a Cell

Dean Ambrose getting curb stomped into the cinder blocks made huge headlines everywhere and apparently the reason why WWE did that was to give Ambrose some time off for the filming of the movie “Lockout”.

Though initially Ambrose was expected to return soon, the latest word that came up suggests that he would be taking a leave all the way to Hell in a Cell.

It is surprising how WWE is letting a heated feud cool down like that while leaving Rollins unattended. There is practically no option for Rollins to feud with at this moment unless he gets involved with Orton and Reigns for the briefcase.

The Hell in a Cell however is an interesting prospect as the duo could have an excellent match inside the Cell to resume their storyline.

#2 Bray Wyatts feud after Chris Jericho

Bray squared off against John Cena at WrestleMania and was expected to be in the main event picture after a few months. He was thrown into a feud with Jericho to achieve this but things got messed up and Bray no longer has the importance that he once had.

His feud with Jericho looks all set to continue till the Night of Champions and WWE has started to look for replacement feuds after that.

And though many would expect some big name like Dean Ambrose or Roman Reigns, WWE is going to give Bray a shot at the United States Championship.

He has a long history with Sheamus even though the two weren’t in any kind of storyline and the creative is hoping the chemistry would work wonders once Jericho will conclude his spell.

#1 Bully Ray coming to WWE

Bully Ray is arguably one of the most over superstars that TNA has at their disposal at this moment. He morphed well from a legendary tag team wrestler to a single competitor who thrived in the main event push.

Though there are occasional reunions of the Dudley boys, Bully is still pretty much a singles competitor who might well be out of TNA soon.

There is a word around the block saying that he is on his way to WWE and considering how successful he has been with TNA, it might just materialize. Bully’s age however would reflect the contract that the company would give him as it would not be a longer one.

And also, there are certain names in the roster which does not want him in the company with Randy Orton being the most notable one.

Bayley gives us a HUGE update on a top Superstar's upcoming return RIGHT HERE.
