WWE Power Rankings: 10 October, 2014

An anniversary week unfolded for WWE when the company’s so called ‘B’ show crossed the 15 year mark on Friday. The show was worth watching due to a lot of reasons but the same couldn’t be said about Monday Night Raw.Raw was full of flaws which apparently got overruled by an electric return of The Rock. The Brahma Bull tore down the arena with his presence and gave Lana some lessons about giving out a promo. This was the only highlight from Monday Night which added two big matches to Hell in a Cell.Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and John Cena proved to be the centre of the universe once again while the Midcard felt like it was lost in a concrete jungle. All the mess up resulted in huge leaps and drops in the Power Rankings so here is a look at the final list after a forgettable week.

#25 El Torito (Previous Rank Nil)

Yes, it was one of those weeks in which El Torito cracked into the Power Rankings. The little bull had an impressive week when he ended up on the winning side on two occasions. Some might argue about how stupid it is to have a bull and gator fight in between the ropes but compared to Total divas, it is much better drama.

#24 Alicia Fox (Previous Rank 24)

The crazy Alicia Fox added a bit more depth to his alliance with Paige when she partnered the Brit on Raw for a win. SmackDown however couldn’t deliver good news for Alicia who stumbled in front of a determined AJ Lee on the 15th anniversary night.

#23 The Miz (Previous Rank 25)

Intercontinental title dreams of Miz seem to have died as he has set his eyes on a different midcard title. The first stride towards the destination came in form a win against Sheamus on Raw which helps Miz to improve his rankings and explore deeper.

#22 Kane (Previous Rank Nil)

After being book as the Authority’s puppet once again on Raw, Kane showed glimpses of his true self at SmackDown when he destroyed the exotic express. The latter character is what the fans clearly wants to see as it give some depth and momentum for the big red monster.

#21 Bo Dallas (Previous Rank 21)

It’s incredibly hard to say about the current momentum of Bo Dallas as it is nothing short of a roller coaster ride. He got another win over Mark Henry on Raw but SmackDown and Main event proved to be losing ground for the inspirational superstar.

#20 Tyson Kidd (Previous Rank 22)

For every El Torito that gets a place in the Power Rankings, there is a Tyson Kidd who shows improvement. WWE is apparently replicating the angle from NXT between Kidd and Natalya which is good news for both superstars who are underused.

#19 Jack Swagger (Previous Rank 19)

Tyson Kidd looks set to be the next storyline provider for Jack Swagger who split a win and a loss against the Hart Family member. Helping Team Teddy win at SmackDown ended the week on a positive note for the Real American who keeps his ranking intact.

#18 Brie Bella (Previous Rank 18)

Brie secured a win with one arm tied behind her back which is nothing less that ironic. The match wasn’t graceful at any level but WWE delivered the message that Brie is better than Nikki. The win helps Brie to keep her ranking safe but the beating she got at Main Event could be sign of things to come.

#17 Cesaro (Previous Rank 16)

Cesaro is one of those superstars that make the fans happy with his in ring performance but unfortunately unlike other promotions, WWE doesn’t push wrestlers that make the fans happy. Cesaro is no different as he had a week full of losses and a drop down the Power Ranking.

#16 Nikki Bella (Previous Rank 17)

Nikki’s feud with Brie isn’t probably going the way that she wants it to go. Brie got the upper hand on Raw but Nikki settled the score at Main Event thanks to some help. The feud still hasn’t clicked with the fans which show the inefficiency of the WWE creative team.

#15 Mark Henry (Previous Rank 15)

The World’s strongest man’s bad run against Bo Dallas continued this week when he suffered yet another loss against the Inspirational superstar. The impending heel turn needs to happen at the earliest since Henry is losing his ground fast in a crowded roster.

#14 Wyatt Family (Previous Rank 14)

The company might be having big plans for the creepy trio since they are not involved in any kind of storyline heading into Hell in a Cell. A return after such a break would bring back the momentum into the stable and hopefully Harper would end up as the next big thing in the promotion.

#13 Big Show (Previous Rank 13)

Show’s feud with Rusev got hit by the Pause button as Rusev had bigger things than Big Show this week. Despite having a lot of heat after the flag incident, keeping Show away didn’t end up being a wise decision and the feud might be almost dead after this botch from the writers.

#12 Rusev (Previous Rank 11)

The Bulgarian Brute wanted to pile up the insults against America on Raw but was interrupted by a returning Rock. Sharing television screen with the great one will do wonders for Rusev’s career and getting a win against Ziggler on SmackDown made things better.

#11 Dust Brothers (Previous Rank 9)

WWE is awkwardly booking their Tag Team champions as the Dust Brothers continue to suffer losses. They haven’t been building up as credible champions by the company and the idea will backfire when they will be involved in a feud in near future.

#10 Paige (Previous Rank 12)

Paige might not have the Divas Championship around her waist at the moment but she gets the better of AJ Lee on every occasion. The chemistry that Paige and AJ have deserves special recognition as it has been keeping the feud together despite being almost three pay-per-views old.

#9 AJ Lee (Previous Rank 10)

AJ’s lone wolf character went to a whole different level on Raw when she walked out on Emma. She then went on to get a win against Alicia Fox on Friday night but the backstory that she has with Paige still steers the divas division forward amidst all the Total Divas.

#8 Sheamus (Previous Rank 6)

The Celtic Warrior was supposed to get an easy win against Miz on Raw but thanks to some timely interference from the ever entertaining Damien Sandow, Sheamus ended up in the losing side. He might’ve got a win for Team Teddy but couldn’t stop the drop in the rankings.

#7 The Usos (Previous Rank 8)

Usos are no longer the tag team champions but does know how to climb up the rankings. They are just a short distance away from the top five spot while the tag team champions are not even in the top ten. A multiple victory week helps them to reach seventh in the rankings and the Brother will be looking to crack the top five next week.

#6 Randy Orton (Previous Rank 4)

Orton might be one of the most achieved superstars in the current roster but he is nothing more than a mere supporting character. Mustard and Dean Ambrose gave a forgettable week for the Viper who drops down two places in this week’s Power Rankings.

#5 Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank 5)

Ziggler was presented with the opportunity to rise up the Rankings when he faced Rusev at SmackDown. However, he couldn’t become the first man to pin the Bulgarian brute which kept the intercontinental champion rooted to his previous rank.

#4 Dean Ambrose (Previous Rank 7)

Ambrose takes a huge leap forward in the Power Rankings as he continues to headline the top storyline. The feud he is having with John Cena is going to take the Lunatic fringe to a whole different level and hopefully the writers won’t mess up this opportunity to build a new star.

#3 Seth Rollins (Previous Rank 3)

Rollins got an impressive win against Kofi Kingston on SmackDown which helps him to stay in the third place. Rollins however still remains to be the most wanted heel in the roster which in turn landed him with a main event match at Hell in a Cell.

#2 John Cena (Previous Rank- 2)

The ultimate hero vs. Anti- hero match is all set for Hell in a Cell and Cena has found another CM Punk in the form of Dean Ambrose. The feud will do wonders for Ambrose and would be equally rewarding for Cena no matter how the fans see it.

#1 Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank 1)

WWE are clearly feeling the heat right now thanks to their never present champion. Lesnar looks all set to miss Hell in a Cell at this rate and Paul Heyman’s promo on SmackDown gave away nothing about the Beast and his possible return if there is something like that brewing in the background.
