WWE showcased its final PPV for the year and sure, it could have been better but there were many moments that stood out and will make one tune into Raw in the next 24 hours. There was a return, a title change, a few expected things and a few unexpected things. It surely, did not take over NXT Takeover R Evolution but still there were a few promising developments. Here are the five things we learned from this PPV -

#1 Ambrose may just grab the proverbial brass ring

The discussions around the imaginary brass rings of Vince McMahon may not amount to much as McMahon does what he wants. But Dean Ambrose just a few hours ago, walked into his second PPV main event. He lost, just like he lost the first one. But he couldn’t have lost any fans. He might have gained many in the process. Ambrose’s entire persona is something that one can’t ignore. He stands out and he has stood out ever since he came into this business. By the time Wyatt Vs Ambrose kicked off, the audience had seen ladder spots, thunderous chair shots and broken tables, but yet they managed to end the night on a spectacular note.

#2 The Show off is still the Showstopper

After showcasing or rather, in his style, show-offing a performance in the most spectacular fashion at Survivor Series, Dolph Ziggler has had many memorable TV moments where he defeated Harper in good matches on Smackdown but nobody really expected that Ziggler might beat Harper to win his third IC title for this year. This has to be good news by any paradigm, as Ziggler is a fan favorite and he has brought back some remains of the prestige that belonged to this title. This means that Harper will get his rematch soon and if bad news Barrett returns sooner than later, a feud between him and Ziggler and Harper will be exciting if given the time.

#3 The Big Show and The Big Red can put on a show

Even though, both of them fall in the category of being called giants, one would have expected them to have a slow match, but they did exceed the low expectations to bring out possibly one of the better matches of the night. Big Show and Erick Rowan started this feud on the heels of another Big Show heel turn, but it has been able to work for Show and Rowan, who’s had the first babyface turn in his team. His face turn has been good thus far and this match should result into some more screen time.

#4 Roman Reigns is back

A week ago, we saw a limping Roman Reigns make his way to accept the Superstar of the Year slammy. And then he was also present at the show of the year called NXT Takeover- R Evolution. Just hours ago, we saw him make the save for John Cena. He really did take out a page from Cena’s book of saves. Thus making it clear that his reign to the top is going to begin soon. While people were expecting Randy Orton, they got Reigns.

The crowd was happy and it makes Raw to look forward to.

#5 The New Generation are claiming the future

The biggest highlights of this night belonged to Ambrose, Wyatt, Reigns, Ziggler,Rollins, Rowan and Harper. The Shield and The Wyatt Family have proved their worth in their singles journey so far. Two young stars got to end the night. This comes a few days after the stars of NXT put on the best show of the year for the WWE. It was like their Wrestlemania. This has certainly been the year where the new guys have shown what they’re capable of.

If this was such a year, next year sure looks something to look forward to.
