WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 19 October, 2014

The professional wrestling business passed another week that gave the fans a lot to talk about. WWE’s creative team were in the news for all the wrong reasons as their build up to Hell in a Cell fell botched at all levels. However, the rumor mill had something good for the backstage people in WWE. Some big returns might be lined up for the future with each having a paramount importance on the current landscape of the promotion.Elsewhere, a Total Divas failure might get a reboot to her character soon while a struggling TNA has made the whole internet buzzing with some ‘Big announcement’ that Dixie Carter would make soon. With that said, here is a look at what these speculations are and how they’ll effect the business altogether.

#5 Dudley Boys might be coming back

Brother Devon and Bully Ray form one of the most decorated tag teams in professional wrestling. The Dudley boys have wrestled across the world in various promotions and have held titles that are hard to count with fingers.

The recent run that they had in TNA alongside the Hardy Boys and American Wolves made it clear that there is a lot of fire left in the Dudley boys.

Dudleys are apparently free agents now after their contract with TNA ran out. At Bound of Glory, the duo pointed out that they will be coming for the Bullet Club which is a faction in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

NJPW fans will be seeing Dudley from the looks of it but it is expected to be a short run since WWE are high on the tag team. Dudleys may end up under Vince McMahon after their stint at Japan and the rumor has left the fans watering their mouth.

#4 Jojo to become a ring announcer in main roster

WWE’s efforts to build up Jojo Offerman as a wrestler and a Total Divas star apparently went nowhere and the company has come up with a new plan for the diva.

Jojo could soon end up being a ring announcer in the main roster which might go down as WWE’s last effort to keep her in the roster. Jojo has some experience with the microphone back in NXT here she played the role wonderfully.

The recent release of Justin Roberts will work in favor of Jojo and speed up her call up. However, she still has a lot of competition from Eden who has a lot of backing from the WWE team.

Seeing Jojo in a different character would be good for the main roster fans who still has a ‘bad wrestler’ image about her.

#3 Ryback, Bray Wyatt and Lesnars return rumors

The depleted roster of the WWE might soon be stitched up with some big returns. Ryback who has been out for months is rumored to be returning soon and might turn baby face once he does that.

Ryback is someone who still has a lot of potential to fulfill and a face turn would probably help him do so. Meanwhile, Bray Wyatt and his vignettes have made the fans scratch their heads.

The first video saw Bray letting go of Luke Harper while the second saw Erick Rowan parting ways and third one was all about Bray which this indicates that he will be returning as a main event star and probably without his family.

The missing WWE champion is the third protagonist in the list and Lesnar might be making his return before the year ends only to receive a Slammy and nothing more.

#2 John Cena Orton would headline Hell in a Cell

If you thought that having a John Cena – Randy Orton match in the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view then I got some bad news for you.

It is rumored that the Cena- Orton match would be closing the show on October 26th rather than the Dean Ambrose – Seth Rollins one as the fans expected. Not only does the idea find ridiculous it also shows that the company has intention in making new stars.

The typical same old Orton – Cena match to headline a pay-per-view is not going to make the fans happy since they don’t have any sort of buildup for the match.

And with such an idiotic booking in place, the fans might not even stick around to see the full show since the Ambrose – Rollins match is the only attraction.

#1 TNA negotiating with a big free agent

There is a lot of confusion about the status of TNA due to the promotions inefficiency in securing a new television deal which is essential to stay alive in the wrestling business.

However, this hasn’t kept Dixie Carter down. She is scheduled to make a big announcement soon and though it is expected to be a new television deal, the internet suggests that it would be a big signing.

Now the free agent lists includes the lights of Mick Foley, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio when it comes to being ‘big stars’ with outside chance of Steve Austin or Goldberg.

Foley and Punk has denied the rumors of them joining TNA but from what he have learnt from the wrestling business, denial is always the first step before you join a promotion.
