Top 5 WWE Rumours of the week and analysis: 7 December, 2014

WWE worked out a lot of developments ahead of TLC throughout the week, but all that got overshadowed by Vince McMahon, Steve Austin and CM Punk.McMahon sat with Austin for the podcast which revealed many shocking things while Punk’s reply to all that was equally impactful. And as the week came to an end, the Punk dropped a big pipe bomb: he joined UFC. There were a lot of rumors that poked up amidst all those chaos and while many of them looked possible other sounded utterly ridiculous as usual. So with the spoiler alert out of the way, here is a look at this week’s top rumors and their possible impact on the WWE product.

#5 Daniel Bryan eager to return at Royal Rumble

The recent appearances made by Daniel Bryan have caused a lot of buzz on the Internet community and apparently Bryan wants to return for Royal Rumble. WWE, as usual doesn’t have any plan in place for the flying goat which clearly is a problem.

However, Royal Rumble would be a great choice for Bryan’s return. in a match that has 39 other men, they will have no trouble protecting the recovering Bryan and it will also have the much-needed surprise element.

Also, there is a talk going around about Bryan facing Sting at WrestleMania but all that will depend on when Bryan will be ready to make his return.

#4 Jericho to miss Royal Rumble and WrestleMania

The appearance of Jericho that came a couple of weeks back seems to be an isolated one as the Human Highlight reel is likely to miss both Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.

Jericho hasn’t been advertised for both the pay-per-views next year and his dates with the band Fozzy is also expected to clash even if he was to attend. This will be a big blow for WWE due to the star power that Jericho brings in.

Though Jericho confirmed the same during a question and answer session in his official Twitter account, there are chances of the plan being changed by the WWE just because of the pure amount of desperation that they have during the WrestleMania period.

#3 Randy Orton to return at TLC and cost Rollins his match

WWE roster is going through a depleted period at the moment and the company will be looking to bloat up the same before they embark on the Road to WrestleMania.

Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Bad News Barrett and Rey Mysterio are the names expected to return before that and Orton’s return could happen at TLC. The viper is expected to be a surprise interference in the John Cena - Seth Rollins match at TLC and in turn costing Rollins the match.

Rollins and Orton will then go on to have a feud that will run all the way to January or beyond. Reigns, meanwhile, has been advertised for the SmackDown episode after TLC suggesting that he might make a return soon.

#2 Undertaker also got low payoff for WrestleMania

One of the biggest takeaways from CM Punk’s rant in Colt Cabana’s podcast was about the payoff he got at WrestleMania. Punk said that he didn’t get the amount of money he deserved despite giving out the best match of the night.

And from the latest rumors that came out, Undertaker also didn’t get the payoff that he deserved to get. Also, Taker is not known for making a chaos out of such situations which was probably the reason why we didn’t hear all of this until now.

These are just the two cases we know and there might be many other counterparts across the WWE Roster. Taker or the WWE officials are yet to respond to the rumor and the situation will be much clearer when that happens.

#1 Sting has five appearances left

The apparent details about Sting’s WWE contract were doing rounds on the internet this week and according to them, WWE has only bought in the Icon for just six dates.

His appearance at Survivor Series would count as the first and Sting only has five more left. He is sure to be a main draw in WrestleMania from what Vince told at the Steve Austin podcast and if that’s the case, the company will probably use the remaining four dates as a buildup.

There is no news on what happens to Sting after the contract runs out and on whom he will be facing at WrestleMania. Triple H is still on the books while the optimistic fans are going with the possibility of Undertaker even though the dead man hasn’t been out of television for ages.
