Report: TNA not giving up on their chase for former WWE superstars

TNA wants to sign Alberto El Patron (formerly Alberto Del Rio) from Lucha Underground

Although the wrestling world may be ready for TNA to fold up, that is the last thing on TNA's mind apparently. According to reports, TNA is trying to go after some huge names in wrestling.

TNA is rumoured to be going after Alberto El Patron, formerly known as Alberto Del Rio. El Patron is currently the AAA champion and has been with Lucha Underground. So TNA is gonna have a hard time trying to sway him over to their company from the indies.

We remember that Del Rio was fired from the WWE last year, owing to "unprofessional conduct" following an altercation with an employee who allegedly made a racist joke.

Del Rio also has been unhappy about the hold up with confirming dates for a second season of Lucha Underground and TNA knows this, and are trying to sell Del Rio and Rey Mysterio on the idea that they will know their dates far in advance, leaving them plenty of time to book other work that can be planned around the TNA schedule.

TNA, on their part, are also reportedly in hot pursuit of Dolph Ziggler, that is if he becomes a free agent. The reason for them doing so is their desire to get re-established in the pay-per-view scene again. They are aware they are low on mainstream star power, which is one of the reasons they were planning to go after Dolph Ziggler aggressively.

Whatever happens, looks like TNA are in no mood to relent and will not be waving the white flag anytime soon.
